It was a wonderful sunny day, the birds chirping away in the distance, and the air remained motionless, it was truly a sight to imagine in your dreams, but I remained focused on my primary goal which was to defeat the Akatsuki and bring to halt their malicious plans, therefore I continued to travel through these plain fields towards their residence, which being Amegakure. Then I noticed a tall figure in the distance, lying on the ground, he was shown to possess long, blonde hair, with a pony tail hanging down and swaying with tranquility. As I approached his vicinity, I noticed he was Deidara, an accomplished shinobi from Iwagakure, who had recently defected his nation. Unknown to how he would interact, I carefully advanced to his position, upon doing so, he recognized me.
Deidara: You are Jiraiya, the toad sage, huh?
As these words occured, I noticed the familiar red clouds painted on his long, dark cloak. Immediately, angered with what I saw, I uttered no more words and began to initiate my first attack. Infusing my chakra with the air around me, I create a breeze which flows through the large area of the field allowing me to sense your chakra similarly to the chakra sensing rain. Immediately after doing the previous move, I transmit an illusion allowing me to manipulate your brain to display a large fireball approaching your area, engulfing you in flames, immediately upon contact. As I complete these actions, I see you struggle by the genjutsu, therefore with no further delay I send a blade of unblockable wind in your direction, annihilating you. But just in case, you survived these blows, I continue to keep my eye on your movements.
Jiraiya: Joining Akatsuki was your last mistake.

Upon a nice and cool day, Deidara was taking it easy and relaxing, totally enjoying the day, until Jiraiya the toad sage appeared, Deidara knew of his intentions, which was destroying the akatsuki,
Deidara:You just spoiled a perfect day, Jiraiya-sama, and I know that you have been tracking the akatsuki's movements for quite a while, but this is the end and you shall die here, Hmm.
There was a slight breeze picking up as Deidara was getting himself ready for an intense fight, once again to prove that his art is the greatest by far, All of a sudden a random huge fireball appeared to be dropping from the sky above Deidara's head, he had not seen Jiraiya weave any signs and Deidara knows that most fire techniques of this quality is always released through the mouth, being a master in Katon himself, without further thought, Deidara knew that it was a genjutsu and he quickly gathers and channels unfocused lightning through his entire body with which to cancel out the Illusion,

Upon being released from the genjutsu Deidara notices a fierce blade of wind coming towards him at a high speed and he then quickly gathers some fire chakra into his lungs and he then releases the chakra by blowing out a large fireball of intense and blazing hot flames,

Deidara: Did you really think you would get rid of me that easy, Jiraiya-sama?
Deidara then starts focusing his earth chakra into the ground and upon releasing the earth chakra into the ground, Deidara creates large pillars which forcefully emerges from the ground and impales Jiraiya,

I don't agree with that assumption one bit. Besides, if you know its a genjutsu, you'd be more likely to use Kai and not nagashi.
Lemme me foil your reasoning: you say fire techniques come from the mouth...Assuming that, earth techniques come from the ground. Right? Then everytime someone uses Dropping lid on you, you're going to have to say its a genjutsu because of that?
Its a fire ball coming from the sky...pretty hard to say its not a fire technique because it comes from the sky. Easy way out would be to simply counter the illusionary fire ball. Once it collides with a real jutsu, it simply fades away as its not real and you broken the illusion by allowing it to run its course.
