Yamato was standing about 15 meters away from Toph. Yamato was planning something out, as he knew Amegakure no Toph AKA The Blind Bandit too well. He performed a handseal, and caused Toph to believe that she has been trapped in a world of infinite darkness. Immediately right after Yamato casted the genjutsu he created a giant boar shaped earthen lid in the air, that was falling and trapping Toph along with some trees. The Edge of the lid didn't fall on a tree but perfectly on the ground, through the trees. Because of the lid, Toph was now trapped and even if she broke out of the genjutsu she would still see nothing, as it is dark inside the earthen lid. This would lead up to confusion, so the blindness she gained became more believable.
"I guess I know why you're called the blind bandit."
Right after the lid trapped her, Yamato stomped on the ground, and created a tunnel between him and toph, going beneath the earthen lid. Then he breathed fire into the tunnel and it travelled as lava toward Toph. Without Toph seeing anything nor noticing anything, Yamato performed a handseal and caused all the lava to erupt beneath toph, and inside the earthen lid. She was engulfed in lava together with some trees and she was burned alive. She couldn't escaped because of the earthen lid, she couldn't see anything and going into the ground would kill her because she couldn't see anything and then she'd get engulfed with lava immediately as it is coming from beneath. And there were also some trees, so if she'd start walking around without being able to see anything, she'd just bump a tree.
"Damn, I kinda feel sorry for the fellow Ame member, but I know she's stronger than that and could survive it."

With a single hand seal, the molten rock debris will erupt from the ground underneath the opponent, engulfing them and burning them alive.
