The official website for the One Piece franchise announced on Monday that One Piece will get a TV anime special on December 19 titled One Piece ~Adventure of Nevlandia~. The special will be the anime's first winter special.

The special with a completely original story will take place on a "Devil Fruit blocking" fog island in the New World that keeps Devil Fruit users from being able to use their powers. The crew will also again meet and have a rematch with the Foxy Pirates from the Davy Back Fight arc.

Foxy now has three new subordinates: Dōjack, Kanshō, and Kōmei, the latter of whom is a member of a family of genius tacticians.

Kōmei devises a plan where Zoro and Sanji take part in an eating contest, and the two eat a strange "good-for-nothing-only" mushroom that turns them into good-for-nothing men. The two are then locked in a jail cell. When the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates chase after their imprisoned crew, they land on the island of Nevlandia, which features a mysterious fog made from sea water, and it has the same effects as seastone. The Straw Hat Pirates' arrival on Nevlandia is also a part of Kōmei's plan.

Kônosuke Uda (One Piece episodes 1-278, One Piece: Dead End, One Piece: Mega Mecha Soldier of Karakuri Castle) will direct the special.

The special will air on December 19 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:10 p.m. on Fuji TV.

The previous TV special, One Piece Episode of Sabo, aired on August 22. The end of the special announced that the 13th anime film in the franchise will open in summer 2016.

A One Piece film opened every year in Japan between 2000-2009. Since then, aside from One Piece Film Z and the 30-minute One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase film in 2011, Fuji TV has aired numerous long specials, such as One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Bōken, One Piece Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna, One Piece Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari, and One Piece "3D2Y" Ace no Shi wo Koete! Luffy Nakama to no Chikai.

:yayy: nice I missed Foxy, but I only read half of the synopsis. They r spoiling too much. Anyway I am looking forward to it since animation for specials is usually better than canon

Wow foxy is so much weaker than Luffy his DF powers along with his crews had to be blocked.

Not really a fan of rehashing old villains and foxy was definitely one of my least favorites, can't really say I'm happy about this.
