Anime has more mistakes, Naruto can perform Chidori in one of the games etc.

I think he's saying the movies should correlate to the series

Sometimes they give characters powers they aren't actually capable of using, like Kakashi using fire release in one of the fillers, Orochimaru's 8 branches form being able to use some variant of a tailed beast bomb (i think that was one of the games), and many other examples i can't think of at this moment.

well you guys should know that kishi has taken over writing/directing all future movies. And guys, I know that the errors sometimes stand out, but aside from that I feel that the filler was very relevant. what about this week anime episode... Its not canon, it wasnt in the manga, nobody likes sai or his sealing technique... but it was a good episode, and relevant to what happened in the war. Would you really want Kishi to have wasted a week of manga tell this story? I wouldnt and thats what the anime is for.

Well normally when people have a naruto discussion theyre having a "manga" discussion. Its all about where they posted in the forum, since there are areas for both. and when people talk about the manga they like to stick to the manga. but if youre talking about naruto overall its okay to reference fillers as long as your not all "KAKASHI CAN USE FIRE JUTSU ERRMEERRRGERRRD".... but if you were all "the 12 guardian ninja from asuma's filler arc were pretty cool, I bet they could take on such and such" its a different story

He only directed Road to ninja so far. As far as I know, he hasn't said he would direct and write the future movies (if they are made) as well.

OT: people consider the manga canon, because the manga is created by the mangaka and therefore contains information that that mangaka actually gives and therefore is accurate.
While the mangaka gives his permission for anime and games etc; he/she doesn't write or work on it directly and therefore the information in animefillers and games are put underneath the manga when someone considers something canon
