Only reason Named characters are fodder are due to shit power scaling and development

Fodders should be minions, unnamed characters, and featless/hype characters to make the antagonist seem powerful and dominant. It shouldn't power scale to the point everyone who isn't the main characters are fodder.

Momoshiki and Kinshiki level of villains pull up on earth. Not a damn person except for Naruto & Sasuke could do shit. Even DBZ had the Z-Fighters going to to toe with the villains even though most of the time that ass got beat.

But not one shotted like the characters in Naruto would have gotten. Almost everyone in the NV are Yamcha status or non-combative.


Hero Academia and DBZ(somewhat) off the top of my head manages to balance out things and keep the power scaling great enough for more than 1 or 2 characters to do all the heavy lifting or at the very least play to their strengths.

Sasuke and Naruto outshines and undermines everyones role.

No one can really play up to their strengths because Naruto And Sasuke undermine it. Boruto gets a pass because he's the MC and even then Sasuke saw everything going on with momshiki ghost.

It would be better off making the MC weaker than everyone or making the support incredibly strong. Kinda like Strongest disciple kenshi.

manga is better than movie when it comes to power scale. Kurotsuchi and Chojuro together did better job against Kinshiki than Sasuke did they even saved him against Kinshiki.

Gaara and Darui also did decent job against Momoshiki.

You cant mame a story where the side characters sole purpose isnt to give a main character development,the more you look into the more you realize that's what side characters are for.

all of the main character were nerf for steven. They turned him into a god. He brought Lars back to life,he has the most powers/feats out of any other gem. The only other gem to have a feat is garnet and Pearl. The most intelligent character was peridot but she was dumb down to make steven more smart. The only time the gem did heavy lifting was in season 1-2 and the beginning of season 3
