The ending was awful all around. Not just Sasuke's ending. The shipping took all the entertainment out of the series for non-shippers. NOTHING made sense and it was shoddy at best. The manga should have ended with dignity, but for me, it didn't. I think it might stain the series, which is a shame, because it was great--until the end.
Hate it, lol.

this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody gets it. +rep. It should have ended with ch 698 where Naruto/Sasuke reconciled. Not like this.

ot: Sasuke got a new character design that's unoriginal. He looks exactly like young Maddy.

The guy ranted on and on about his clan (who was 50% at fault for their own fate) and how he wanted to avenge them... and never does.

Then, when he finally gets a family, he decides to leave them in favor of seeing the world when it's peaceful and with a clearer view. However, the only thing he missed the first time when seeing the world was his bonds, he left those in Konoha. There's nothing out there for him to see now... just people and places he's seen before. He's leaving the thing he missed out on once again. In fact, this time he's actually leaving his legitimate family, just to go out sight-seeing. This guy doesn't care for his family in reality and is self-centered to a ridiculous degree. He probably never did, even in pt1 and pt2, he admitted that he thought of never getting revenge (and this was prior to learning the truth) and it was all based on his own emotion and what he felt like he wanted to do.

He's not atoning for his sins and willingly took Kakashi's offer at no jail time and being completely off the hook for the deaths of 1000s. He has no real moral compass as a character. He claims that being a wanderer would lead to him atoning to his sins. I'm sorry, but that doesn't work. Going sight-seeing and enjoying yourself whilst being free from responsibility isn't punishment. It's just a reward.

Sasuke never completed his long-term goals and contradicted his character themes from the start, with completely tossing them in the garbage in latest chapters. He's poorly written, just as Kakashi/Sakura/Naruto are as well.

Sasuke as a character (and to why I was a fan) holds merit because he was somewhat interesting since he kept the plot moving. Other than that, he's just a fanservice character- last chapters made that clear even moreso.

I agree, Sasuke is not Sasuke anymore. ¬_______¬ I still don't why he is my favourite after all the crap(after meeting the hokages) he did. He's plummeted down to ok for me, before he was a really good character. Argh, why couldn't he die? He would have been saved from this crappy as pairing.

Well, he's not Sasuke anymore but I'd still say he's the best out of the main characters. And, I went off on a tangent there and my post is overboard. Lol He was one of the most well-written characters until ch 698. The series might as well ended with both Sasuke and Naruto dying from blood loss. xD

It makes sense that he's still your fave, since he was a good character for 698 chapters. I was just rambling on. Lol Really, 2 chapters shouldn't ruin a character since he was good for so long (698 chapters). He can still be a good character in your opinion, and he definitely is if we ignore the last two chapters. But, I still (and many others do too) wish that he ended off on a different note. However, once again, regardless he's still good in comparison to most other characters in this series. And, especially since with the amount of screen time he had (half of the series is practically dedicated to him), the fact that he was a good character for so long is an impressive feat given how Kishi can ruin a character in seconds of panel time.

Kishi does a better job in ruining a character than redeeming them(unless it's Itachi since he's the only one that benefitted in this horrendous arc), I wanted Sasuke dead ever since he turned good. Because I had it with Kishi, plus he lost a lot of that presence and fierceness(craziness kind of way) he used to had. Most of my love is for MS Sasuke and I still consider him a separate to all the others, plus I watch the chibi version of the Rock Lee SD the last episode. Which was exactly how Sasuke should have turned out!

Re: for sasuke fans...how do you feel about ending?

its not like he will always lying there out of chakra ...sooner or later he will recover little chakra to glance , it kinda obvious who won and who was nerfed...

by the time he recovers chakra to use his sharinnegan genjutsu (aka solo glance), Kurama recovers and snapes naruto out of said genjutsu, or naruto recovers enough chakra to get into sennin mode (so he doesn't even have to look at sasuke) and uses a chakra arm to smash sasuke's face with a rock.

Well, Kabuto benefited from the arc too. He had no real character until his back story was revealed during the Uchiha bros fight. :p And Tsunade and the other Gokage were better since their personalities stayed the same and even improved since they were willing to work together even though there had been years of distrust. Hashirama was not ruined, he stayed the same basically. Actually, the war arc was good for all the Hokage bar Minato. Those are mainly the only characters I can think of who either benefited or stayed where they were at.

Aw. I remember that episode. It was great. xD

I agree on Minato oh good lord was he ruined...and Kakashi(that PS was just), I am not saying plotholes ruin characters, but that is BS. OMG, that chibi Sasuke!!! Plus, that version seem like a better fighter to me. Tsunade had a little bit of weight in her development the other Gokages stayed the same. Why am I the only one that wanted them dead? Kabuto had some weight onto him, other than being Oro's slave and being a leech.

Well, I actually wanted them dead since them being alive served little point to it and if they died it would make things more dramatic, so you're not alone. They were replaced not too long into the future anyway. The only one who needed to stay alive genuinely was Gaara. But, even that was kind of bad since he fanboyed Naruto so much and became this creepy figure. Lol

You don't think Naruto's survival was essential?

The guy relegated the main character to fodder status in chapter 699 and then took his dream girl. In addition to the fact that he preserved his unbeaten record against Naruto, I'd say it turned out well.

Naruto wasn't a Gokage when the Madara fight happened. Tsunade was the Hokage. :|

Oh wow I'm sorry. I just assumed you were talking about Naruto and Sasuke. I shouldn't have done that :(

Am I genuinely the only person not seeing Gaara's fanboyism creepy or maybe I just don't give a crap about him anymore? I think Gaara dying would have made the war a bit better, so at least some realism was restored because the ET was ruining the war.
