Since teamwork is a must in the NV?

I mean if u split them up and pick then off one by one you'd most likely succeed.

If madara would've grabbed naruto and flew off with him.

And had multiple clones fight sasuke he would've still been here.

its more like the heroes separate and surround the villain first so the villain never gets a chance.
pain also split himself up and forced konoha to fight each body separately, as a diversion tactic
