DSM still solos Gai low to no diff.
I'll explain...ahem..

In regular form, Gai is easily countered NO DIFF. has no counter to sound genjutsu. He would be stopped there.
even in 8 gates, at hashirama level. All of his attacks (so far) wouldnt do anything.
Upon impact from the compressed air, he can just liquefy himself and take the blows.
It may be still too early because Gai has another attack, but as of now, Kabuto still reins surpreme over Gai.

kabuto doesnt rely on suigetsu's liquification, he doesnt convert his body into liquid immediately like suigetsu, he has a different version, he can be injured but he will heal
