well you tell me. ive came across many religious people who said progress in this direction is like blasphemy and should be illegal, cause only god is allowed to create "life"..... A.I. would be considered life...at least in some aspects.

Also those are just a bunch of weirdos who got a lot of things wrong. Religion doesn't mark you in such a way. It's like finding a let's say German who doesn't like chocolate and saying all Germans hate chocolates. Not everything religious people say has to do with their religion.
