An alarm went off in the Marine headquarters. Inside of his office, the Fleet Admiral was looking out of a window. The lights in the main building of the headquarters had just gone out, so his face was obscured by the shadows of the room. Save for the moonlight, the room was mostly dim. A scowl on his face, he took his pipe out of his mouth and rubbed his temple in irritation. Suddenly, the door flung open as a Marine officer rushed in.
“Fleet Admiral, sir!”
“He’s gotten away hasn’t he?” the Fleet Admiral asked.
The Marine lowered his head and swallowed hard. The Fleet Admiral picked up the chair and threw it out of the window.
“And the pirates that accompanied him?” he asked furiously.
“Er, gone as well. With two of the Admirals offshore-”
“And what the hell is Ginhyo doing?”
“A-Admiral Ginhyo is in pursuit of them now!”
The Fleet Admiral gritted his teeth. “Of all the days that Punk is right ahead of me, it had to be this one.” He turned around and shoved his chair out of the way. He walked past his desk, the drawers of which were blown apart. As he walked, the room was lit up as the lights powered back on.
“Ah, looks like the back-up generators have kicked in,” the Marine said, looking up.
The Fleet Admiral walked near to Marine, reaching for a bright green bandana. He tied it around his neck. The Fleet Admiral was a lean man, his muscular chest partially visible through his shirt which was unbuttoned at the top. He wore the white Fleet Admiral coat around his shoulders, his arms outside of the sleeves. Underneath, he wore a light blue suit with a black shirt underneath. His pants were bunched up on top of his shoes at the bottom. Around his waist was tied a l large, blue scarf, with some of it hanging off freely. He took off his rounded glassed and tucked them into the bandana.
“When did this go sour?” he thought to himself. “Was it Alabasta? No..it must have been Green Bit. He already had such distrust and a bad attitude in the Marines.” The Fleet Admiral rubbed his forehead with his thumb and index finger. He started towards the window.
“Do-do you need to know what direction they’re heading in?” the Marine stammered.
“I’ve already found them with my Observation Haki. Ginhyo too. Seems like he’s caught up to them. Tch, with his hands on that fruit as well...I don’t have time to waste! Tell any other Marine you encounter to pursue them at full speed, they’re at the south edge of Marineford.”
The Fleet Admiral let off a wave of Armament Haki that smashed the window. The Marine cringed in surprise, then ran off as the Fleet Admiral leapt through the window. Using Geppo, he pushed himself through the sky at high speed.
“Looks like he inherited a lot from Garp…” the Marine muttered as he rushed down the hallway.
The Fleet Admiral was soaring through the air for a while when he looked down. He saw a man using Soru to rush from rooftop to rooftop. The Fleet Admiral lowered himself down and crashed onto a roof just as the man landed. The man looked at the dust cloud that was kicked up with gritted teeth. Behind his sunglasses, he narrowed his eyes. He wore a white suit with a purple coat and a white top hat. He had his hands through the sleeves, unlike the Fleet Admiral.
“Tch, you got some nerve,” the Fleet Admiral said from behind the plume of dust. He stepped out, dusting off his jacket. “You know we have to kick it up a notch now...Ginhyo.”
Ginhyo’s grimace turned into a smile. “Ginhyo? Why don’t you say my name for old time’s sake.”
Immediately after saying that, the two took off using Soru across the rooftops. The Fleet Admiral was slightly ahead as they rushed towards the southern shore of the island.
“Haha fine...Helmeppo. You know, I’ve missed seeing those dinky knives of yours,” the Fleet Admiral said smirking.
“Dinky knives?! They’re super strong kukri, don’t underestimate them!” Helmeppo said. He then smiled and looked ahead. “Coby, sir.”
“What’s with the sir? No need for that kind of formality around old friends.” Coby’s demeanor got serious and he picked up the pace. “We’re going against someone tough here. He’s the strongest we’ve ever seen in CP9...possibly even CP0 if he taken the position. He knows many of our tactics, our classified information. A master of the Six Styles and he possesses two types of Haki...to make matters worse, he’s taken the Devil Fruit we got 2 years ago.”
“Jeez, we don’t ever catch a break huh? The report I received said he allied himself with a pirate crew. To think that man allied himself with pirates...he must have found out what happened 20 years ago at Green Bit.”
Coby’s grimace got wider.
“You know I never approved of that, Coby. Hiding what happened. That’s something the older regiment would have-”
“I regret it, Helmeppo! I made a bad decision, I know...I can never forget the lives that were cost that day. And on top of this...what happened at Alabasta. He’s not going to just forget it. He’s going to go after all those who were involved. And that includes me, Punk and the Gorosei. We absolutely cannot let that happen. On this very night, we will stop Zero!”
