[Discussion] One piece timeskip -sigh-

oooooooooooooooooooooooDamn, can't believe i'm actually gonna do this to Oda. But here it goes. However, i do acknowledge there are people who like the changes, but this is my opinion. This is not a rant or a complain. Since these characters hardly relevant to why i read one piece. =D


- Ussopp = the b*tchiest person on the show now. I thought he would've became more maturish and grown up... But i guess not. Seems like he just became an advanced version of his part 1.

- Sanji = the most annoying person in the strawhats.. There is a time and place to be a perv, and put down others who do something to females.. saying the same shit over and over and over, is just freaking annoying. Just grow the f*ck up yo. I honestly thought thats why Oda had him sent to the Okama island to loose that attitude.. but neverr mind i guess.

- Nami/ Robin = Gone from a badass looking female, to someone who oda has just to please the male viewers with her body. They look like god damn prostitutes now. Next thing you know by the end, they'll be in bikinis during a fight. Zzz



These things annoy the hell out of me. I mean yes there have been some funny moments with those things.. But come the f*ck on.. how many times do I have to see Ussopp B*tch and moan in the same volume. When the things that are going to happen are inevitable.

oh no no. One piece wayyy beyond the things i described. These are just the minor minor minor problems i had with the timeskip.

But they hardly have anything to do with the manga itself.

I know , Time Skip One Piece is not that great , before Time Skip it was incredibily awesome , now it's meh .

I mean i loved all the arcs, hell fishmen island is my fav arc so far after marineford. And this one is going to be my 3rd.

But i just wanted to put out what i didn't like with the timeskip. Though it was good.

One piece isn't simply about luffy and his crew. Its about all the things that happens while a guy named luffy reached the final destination. For all we know there are going to be easily 1000+ chapters of One piece by the time it ends.

I am actually glad its a long manga, since the universe it has created is the grandest universe of all the manga i have seen.

Again, these were just minor problems i had with only the time skip.

Not only that,, since when did Robin start relying on dudes? lol.. She was like the epitome of an independent woman in one piece.. now shes is just there for the men viewers to be pleased.

I was seeing Robin as an Unohana type of a person or a Konan type xD.

The Usopp things isn't that bad to me. He's always been one to b**** and moan so I'm not seeing much an issue here. Usopp's been that way all his life, I didn't think two years alone would do the trick. I think that's something that will gradually decline throughout the series when he's forced to act around his peers and make those decisions as during the time skip, he didn't really have to be brave like he's attempting to do for the Tontatta now, it seems to be a different situation so naturally, Usopp's initial reaction is to cower.

Sanji, I like the Sanji humor thing, again with the thing about him being that way all his life, it's not gonna change just in 2 years of time, we've seen in Naruto's time skip as well that many characters retain old traits. Also, I don't find it annoying but that's a matter of taste.

For Nami/Robin: I can understand this a little more. Seems like Oda is leaning into the fan service field like Fairy Tail does which I really hope he doesn't do. They don't look like prostitutes but it does feel like he's taking away that badass aspect, especially from Robin which just isn't right. Still really like both those characters though ^_^

Previously Ussop would have just ran, and kept on running. He wouldn't have returned to the dwarves imo.
Sanji is cool, the first two are the characters gimmicks which they will never loose because they are relevant to the character and make then who they are.
For the third one why the hell are you complaining about more skin showing?

1st Bold, sir you do realize all the development they got before the time skip was under a year.. i'm pretty sure if anything was to change 2 years are plenty... unless of course you really have 0 potential for development. WE WANTED HIM TO CHANGE "Part of his character" isn't an excuse. Oda send Ussop to a island where he is alone and has to use his skills.. of course we are going to think he would grow up and be more mature yo..

2nd Bold, there are places where the humor is needed and places where it isn't. Oda's sense of humor is far more off than Kishimoto's now (who atleast sticks to the traditional human, instead of trying to be more modern like Oda.)

3rd Bold, yeaaa wearing something that looks like a bed dress and no bra and etc sure ain't dressing like a prostitute.


But I do understand that you like them! So don't take my response or the OP as a negative thing =D.

To be brave doesn't = grown up.

To be brave = being able to conquer anything.. for that he'll need to conquer the grandline. Also, what is his goal? Have you been reading the manga? All the strawhats goals come after the fact they want to make luffy into the pirate king. That is their top goal period.

Hadn't seen women is exactly the reason why someone would think hes grown the f*ck up. And reread what i said, i'm sayin repeating it over and over ... There is a time and a place.

How would you know they haven't watched one piece? Your just butthurt that some people think one piece is sub par and it hurts you inside haha. op: how can you forget luffy he's the same exact person from the start of the series it sucks when the main character doesn't get development at all.

I like most of the changes for the SHs except at first I was skeptical about Franky, but that's over

But to reply to your points

1. usopp has been the scared dude since the beginning only this time he was alone and a dude on the level of Diamante and Pica was in fromt of him (ie Zoro lvl opponent)

2. How would Sanji be Sanji if he disn't do that?

3. They have been looking like that since Enies Lobby (go outside though most young girls dress sluttier tbh), as for Robin the ENTIRE Enies Lobby arc was LITERALLY based on Robin relying on others

I find it weird how manga fans have developed two false concepts of quality:
Blood and gore equals high quality
Fanservice equals low quality
Both of which make absolutely no sense, some of the greatest masterpieces in art use "fanservice" and blood and gore is certainly no standard for quality in art

And as far as fanservice goes, how is OP fanservice heavy, unless you are a horny kid it's not even fanservice heavy, it has less fanservice than most movies and certainly FAAAAR less fanservice than an average music video

You clearly can't cope well with changes. I personally think the changes were for the better. And since the time skip both Punk Hazard and Dressrosa have really given us fans a treat. Lots of action, high tempo arcs which include a f*ck load of story development.

Since u listed every minor issues why you think it's meh now,or what u don't like I too will put my cards on table.

1. Timeskip=useless for every character from developement pov. 2 years is a large amount of time to mature,I mean ffs they are like 20-21,leaving robin and franky.

2. Ace's death=useless,I for one thought this should've changed luffy to act mature but no. Just look at naruto,the dude completely changed after jiraya's death giving it a meaning.

3. Things you listed.

4. Fanservice,guess kishimoto is the only author who dropped stereotypical fanservice for male viewers,after that sexy jutsu,which I like.

5. New world=fail hyped world.

6. Repeating personalities and char. back story - nami=weakoshi
nami/vivi=rebecca.

7. Little to less true plot advancement.

These are the reasons I don't like OP. Now waiting for an OPTARD to say I didn't read op or whatever. Come at me.

I enjoyed episodes 1-150 the most to be honest, and yah sanji is truly becoming annoying now!
