Hi guys, and thank you first and foremost for taking the time to continue to read this ongoing theory I have put together
I originally made a theory where i speculated Oda's inspiration for the Yonko Kaidou, in terms of appearance and some aspects of the current/coming arcs.
After much deliberation over the manga, and references I felt were obvious.
I decided that this feared Yonko was based after the Infamous 'Napoleon Bonaparte' of France.
Please see here for the that theory:
I then continued that theory, and spoke about how Oda in his usual intricate way incorporated other inspirations and added his own twist to link Kaidou to Momonosuke and Kinemon/Kanjuro and Wano Kuni
Please see here for the that theory:
NOW, I would like to present the third part of that theory:
WANO, X-DRAKE, KAIDOU WAR:
To begin here is a brief hypothesis I mentioned on how Kinemon Momonosuke and Kanjuro are linked to Kaidou:
''Kaidou and his Zoan army invade Wano-Kuni, and with their 'Magic Powers', state that they have come to rule over the Kingdom as sent from Heaven, and force the nation to instill Kaidou as the new Shogun or even Emperor.
Momonosuke's father, the rightful Shogun a strong and noble warrior is Killed or Imprisoned, and Kaidou then decides to eliminate the Shoguns lineage, which the people of Wano-Kuni consider holy which of course includes Momonosuke.
Kinemon, Kanjuro and the third Samurai, are loyal Samurai serving the Shogun and discover Kaidou is nothing but a pirate save Momonosuke and flee the Kingdom making a oath to come back and restore Momonosuke as the rightful Shogun and eliminate the Dictator who has taken their country.
Kinemon poses as Momonosuke's father in order to protect Momonosuke's identity''
Momonosuke and the 'Replica':
longside this, we do know Doflamingo wants Momonosuke and I decided it was for the following reasons:
1. A means to bargain with Kaidou, as Doflamingo would hold the rightful heir to the Shogun empire in the palm of his hands, (why Kaidou would care for a child who bears no physical threat to him is yet to be seen)
2. Momonosuke has now eaten very SPECIAL Zoan fruit
The fruit in particular I believe bears weight, as the artificial : ''Ryuu-Ryuu No Mi (Dragon-Dragon Fruit)'' , that Momonosuke has eaten was made specifically to replicate a certain Pirates fruit:
YONKO KAIDOU's ZOAN FRUIT, WHICH I BELIEVE IS A DRAGON ZOAN:
(take the following pictures with a pinch of salt lol)
Part-Transformation:
Full Transformation:
(a cheeky Homage to Dragonball Z)
Why I have come to this opinion?
Well notice the following.
The first artificial zoan we are introduced to is the Dragon fruit that Momonosuke ate:
What was confirmed was that this fruit was made by none other than DR.Vegapunk:
Considering who actually created this fruit and that was singled out in a secret room in its own encasing, I believe Doflamingo discovered that the Government were attempting to replicate powerful fruits that were not under their control.
One of which was the most powerful Zoan they could think of: Ryuu-Ryuu No Mi (Dragon-Dragon Fruit)
But wait, I know you are probably thinking why would they abandon a potentially powerful fruit like that?
You are right, and the reason why was that the fruit itself does not match up to the intention of replicating Kaidou's: Ryuu-Ryuu No Mi , despite being the closest.
What Doflamingo has cleverly done is have Ceasar work on creating that replica by using the discarded fruit of Vegapunk as a basis to work from
Vegapunk's failed version is light colored all the way with a long swirled stem:
SMILEs manufactured through the co-operation of Caesar and Doflamingo are dark with light ring pattern with a short stem:
What I also found interesting during the Punk Hazard arc was the following statement by Momonosuke:
He did not know how to revert back to human form despite eating a devil fruit, albeit an artificial one.
Why this is peculiar is Oda mentioned in an SBS that once a devil fruit is eaten, the user immediately grasps what the ability is ( a sort of mini tutorial is understood right away).
My question is the following:
Does the artificial Dragon-Dragon Fruits carry risks/deficiencies that are not known to regular Devil Fruit users ?
I believe so.
Cast your mind back to the beginning of Punk Hazard, what was the first threat the Straw Hats encountered when they arrived:
That's right a Dragon, now to me this is an egg easter egg with two hints.
1. The Dragon is a foreshadow to Kaidou
2. Kinemon attached to the Dragon, is a easter egg reference to Kinemon/Wano being heavily linked/attached to Kaidou.
I also propose the following:
The Dragon the straw hats encountered was a man who had eaten an Artificial Dragon-Dragon Fruit created by Caesar attempting to complete Vegapunks work in replicating Kaidou's fruit.
If you remember the point I just brought up about Momonosuke not knowing how to transform back into human form, what if this is what happened to the 'Dragon' that the straw hats encountered.
I believe he was working for Doflamingo/Caesar, and had eaten (whether under orders or not), an artificial devil fruit and could not control himself any longer.
Wano-Kuni:
Now we do know Wano-Kuni is a 'closed door' type of nation:
The name itself is a pun, as "Wa no Kuni literally meaning "Country of Harmony" is used as a name for Japan.
Wano Kuni is meant as a reference to Tokugawa Japan 1603 - 1870
Back then Japan was a closed country, led by an head of state called the Shogun, that had successfully repulsed immersion and influence of the outside world
Japan's 'secrecy' ended in 1853 when an outside force opened Japan (in this case Kaidou?),
Imposing unfair terms on the Shogun.
Shortly after this, an unfortunate Civil strife between supporters of the Shogun and Emperor occurred.
The War ended in victory for the nobles loyal to the Emperor at the time, (Emperor Meiji), resulting in the 明治維新Meiji Ishin , a period of modernization of Japan.
Now, lets get one thing clear:
I do not believe that Oda will follow this historical timeline exactly, but as I mentioned before, he will use bits and parts as an influence on the coming revelations in his own story.
For example I hypothesised :
''Kaidou and his Zoan army invade Wano-Kuni, and with their 'Magic Powers', state that they have come to rule over the Kingdom as sent from Heaven, and force the nation to instill Kaidou as the new Shogun or even Emperor''
This I believe will be shown to have occurred, and is one of the reasons why Kinemon despises pirates:
Now if Kaidou were to invade WANO-KUNI, and claim the Island as his own, this would obviously go against any Samurai with a strict code of honour and who were loyal to the shogun.
Interestingly enough, during the latter stages of the 'Meiji Ishin' , there was a special 'Authority/Police' squad created.
They were known as the : Shinsengumi
They were a band of 'resistance' fighters, who were founded to protect the Shogunate representatives in Kyoto at a time when a controversial imperial edict to exclude foreign trade from Japan had been made and the Choshu clan had been forced from the imperial court, loyal to the Shogun, but opposed to the foreigners
Kinemon, Kanjuro and the third samurai who we have no information on I believe are part of this special force that resides on Wano-Kuni
So on that basis I continue to state the following:
1. Kinemon, Kanjuro and the third Samurai are of no relation to Momonosuke but are rather his protectors
2. Momonosuke is the son of, or current Emperor/Shogun
3. Kinemon and co. snuck Momonosuke out of the country to seek help against Kaidou and his army, (the mission 4. Kinemon vowed to complete)
Here is a little random tidbit:
Ryuma:
who by the way looked ALOT like Zoro when he was alive:
Was a Samurai from the Wano kingdom whose corpse was used by Gekko Moriah in Thriller Bark.
''Please note what Hogback said to Nami, Chopper and Usopp when speaking on him:
He is a man who came from "Wano Country" in the "New World"!!! Believe it or not, a long time ago he was known as a legendary samurai who killed a dragon!!! And his story is still passed down to this day!!! ”
Possible foreshadow
Also how about this for a foreshadow:
While re-reading some old OP chapters, I come across the following picture from CHAPTER 310:
What are the odds they are in traditional Samurai War gear and a dragon is hovering above them?
X-DRAKE:
Now I move to the next part of this theory, our most recently touched upon Supernova:
Where to start with this guy,
Now prior to the 2 year T/S, we are shown Drake attacking ''IronBoy Scotch'', attempting to seemingly get the attention of one of the four Yonkou:
Now chapters later, we are introduced to a cover story arc called:
Caribou's Kehihihihi in the New World
Which followed this slimy piece of crap's adventure in the New World:
In one of the cover stories he seemingly lands on the same island that Drake met Ironboy on:
Soon after in a continuation of this cover story, we see Ironboy stopping a ''revolution'' being lead by Caribou:
This confirms one thing:
X-DRAKE DID NOT KILL OR REMOVE IRONBOY FROM THAT ISLAND BELONGING TO KAIDOU
Soon afterward in the SAME cover story arc, we see a silhouette of a T-REX , joining the fight and eventually defeating Caribou:
and soon after we get confirmation that it was indeed X-DRAKE:
Now let me highlight the key points from this:
1. X-Drake went to that Island to attack Ironboy and gain Kaidou's attention
2. 2 Years later, Ironboy is shown to be alive and looking after the Island
3. In the same time period X-Drake is also shown to be at the Island stopping the revolution there alongside Ironboy
Now what has happened between that period?
How about X-Drake becoming a subordinate of Kaidou
As shown above, X-Drake wanted to gain the Yonko's attention, and thus attacked Ironboy, however did not kill him, and also two years later they are both shown to reside on the Island, even protecting it from Caribou, this could be construed as an affiliation to Kaidou.
X-Drake is a Zoan user, a natural Zoan user at that, and could have also used this to 'Gain Entry' into Kaidou's ranks, because:
Now, this begs the question, why would Drake want to join Kaidou?
I believe it has something to do with Law's statement regarding surviving in the new world:
Drake has cleveley taken a position under Kaidou's name in the New World.
But why?
I believe he is planning on taking Kaidou also but from the inside, and I believe he has an ally:
Now as many of you know X-Drake is based on the English sea captain, privateer, navigator, slaver and politician of the Elizabethan era, 'Sir Francis Drake':
Many people also know that Basil Hawkins was based off, English naval commander and administrator, merchant, navigator , shipbuilder, pirate and slave trader: 'Sir John Hawkins':
what many people DON'T know, is that they were cousins.
Now I am not saying that Oda will reveal that they are related, but I do believe that Drake has created a plan of his own to take down Kaidou, and Hawkins has agreed to join him one day in doing so, which of course will bring KIDD into the equation.
KAIDOU WAR:
Now, if you have been reading my theory from day-1, (if you haven't shame on you!! lol), you will know that I believe Oda has based Dressrosa on the 'Battle of Trafalgar' to some extent, (particularly in symbolism)
And as you know, I believe Kaidou's base appearance will be that of a short man, (referencing Napoleon again)
Also adding the revelation of Law's surname, ''Water-Law'', we have a obvious hint at ''Waterloo'', the famous battle which Napoleon lost and set the motions in his fall as Emperor.
So since we are currently in the Battle of Trafalgar, what could be contrived as the 'Battle of Waterloo':
This will be the combined forces of Luffy and Law and their respective crews vs Kaidou and the Kaidou army.
However taking into account the following key points:
1. Wano : Momonosuke, Kinemon and the Samurai
2. Feudal/Edo Japan
3. X-Drake and Basil Hawkins
I come to the conclusion that the 'Battle of Waterloo' will be symbolised by the following:
The Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, Drake Pirates, Hawkins Pirates, Loyal Samurai of the Wano Kingdom
vs
Kaidou and the Zoan Army, Treacherous Samurai of the Wano Kingdom
This will be a MONUMENTAL moment in the New World and set off a chain of events which result in Kaidou's downfall, free Wano-Kuni, and throw the New World in disarray
That is the end of my 3 Part Theory I Hope Y'all Enjoyed!
