One Piece Rant

No offense to any One Piece fans.. But seriously... What would that tell someone if a Manga/Anime doesn't start getting good until way later on in the story?

....To me, it basically says, that the creator/writer sucked, and realized how horrible he was when he saw other mangas and animes and how better they were and how many fans they had. So then, when he understood that he had to step it up, he probably started swagga-jacking some ideas, and began to make his story *cough* "better" *cough*... I for one, have no interest in someone's work that only gets good waaayyyy later into the story.

Naruto got me hooked with it's first real fight (Zabuza and Haku) I loved the animation, the fighting style, and the concept/story line. Therefore I started reading the Manga to feed my addiction lol..

Bleach wasn't all that good to me, but I still watched it due to that fact that I did enjoy the animation and style of the art, and most of the fight scenes were really good. But to me, IMO, the story was nothing compared to Naruto. There wasn't any real substance to it. So I never read the manga. Buuuuut I digress.. Sorry I was supposes to be talking about One Piece.....

Now, in all honesty, I have nothing against one piece. I've watched a few episodes back in the day but I never got hooked.. It didn't really appeal to me. Yeah mostly because of its animation and artwork, but come on people, let's be real... No one is going to watch something that doesn't look good to them. Its not like I'm judging a book by its cover, I'm judging a book by the book itself.
I'll never say never. So maybe one day, when Naruto's done and there's no other Anime out that I want to watch, I might consider One Piece. Partially because a lot of fellow NB members enjoy it so much, there has to be something there.

But, QQ (that means Quick Question lol) to anyone who has read this far, which has a better story line to you? Bleach??? or One Piece??? (if you've seen both)

Anyway.. I hope no one took this offensively and I wasn't trying to disrespect One Piece or its fans in anyway. Just sharing my thoughts. If anybody loves One Piece to the point where it is your favorite anime/manga then by all means, please express your opinion on here. You may even convince me to take interest to it.
So go ahead and rant as well if you'd like.. lol

I prefere reading Naruto more than One Piece...
Naruto is filled with plots and many other things to discuss, while I don't really find much to discuss about in One Piece.

But when it comes to watching the anime then One Piece is definitly more entertaining to watch imo! Much more funny and not boring long scenes...


In the very end I like Naruto more than One Piece, that's all I have to say

I watched about 150-ish episodes of One Piece and quite enjoyed what I did watch. But I have to say, it definately didn't get me hooked like Naruto did. Naruto remains my No.1, that's for sure.

Anime: One Piece > Bleach > Naruto
Manga: Naruto > Bleach > One Piece

But again Naruto is my favorite generally speaking ^^

it's not way later in the story and for me one piece is great from the beginning, one piece has a better storyline then bleach and at least one piece is being great so far, while on the other side naruto went down the shit with all the tobi is obito and he turned evil because of rin. in conclusion for me one piece is better, and that's my opinion.

I'll probably just watch it then, instead of reading the manga. Lol

as far as manga/anime goes:
One Piece 10/10
DBZ 10/10 (basically grew up with it)
Naruto was 8/10 now 6 or perhaps 7/10
bleach at most 4/10

for me

OP has the best story overall and is the funniest and after u get used to the art its good that its art is as it is and I now like it better than Naruto and far better than Bleach art

I got hooked on One Piece about 20 episodes in, it doesn't start off that slow, I think One Piece's story and characters are better than Naruto but that is just me, you should try again, we all get hooked at different points, I like the art and find it unique, it even improves as the stroy goes along, give it a chance.

I agree One Piece is pretty boring for awhile. I really wanted to drop the series around Arlong episodes but my friends told me to keep watching. After I finished the Alabasta Arc I was hooked though.

One Piece has a better story than Bleach. I haven't read Bleach in awhile though so it might be amazing now.

Let me put this nicely.
If OP is not your cup of tea then its not your cup of tea.

OP's storyline is far above Bleach's. Don't get me wrong, Bleach is my favorite out of the big 3 but thats just what style I like. Bleach is repetitive, Ichigo gets his powers, finds someone stronger than him, gets a power up, defeats him and the cycle continues. Naruto is pretty much like that as well. OP has much more than that.
Personally I like the style and the timeframe bleach is placed in. The japanese, samurai, and the architecture of the buildings. I like reading bleach as it is not all over the place. On the other hand, bleach anime gets annoying at points.

Personally I hate reading OP but I do it to keep up and be able to contribute in converstations. Its just all over the place. That being said; OP's story line, character progression, comedy, and over all irony at times just blows Naruto and Bleach away.

I can't speak a lot about Naruto as I never really read it up until the sage mode part.

People are a bit snobby when it comes to One Piece but it is truly great, I prefer it to Naruto so give it a try, stick with it and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Naruto will never be in my top 5. It sits somewhere around 9 or 10.

Bleach "could have" been much better if Kubo knew how to write a story that didn't get boring after the first two arcs.

The reason people love OP so much is because there is very little to complain about. For instance, people complain everyday about the War in Naruto where nobody important died, fan favorites and other awesome characters get revived for absolutely no reason, fights they wanted to see but didn't get to, and everything else becomes predictable. If you ask most OP fans, most of them will tell you that their favorite arc is the Marineford War. New characters where shown, important people died, unexpected things happened, and it actually felt like a war was going on. The One Piece fan base doesn't have long pointless arguments and fights like people do about Naruto, because most of us are on the same page and are satisfied with what we read.

Oda develops everything as equally as possible. The characters, set, fights, story, bonds/friendships are all much better then Naruto's. It's only natural that Oda had to go at a much slower pace, and to this day his pace is still quite slow. Oda's main characters(strawhat pirates) are wayyyyyyyyyy more developed then any group of characters in Naruto, especially the Konoha 11 or whatever number.

You're right that people like to read/watch things that pleases the eye, but at the same time you're also quite wrong. One Piece's art style/animation is unique. If it was literally BAD, it wouldn't be the top manga it is now that has even surpassed DBZ.

Why do you ask whether One Piece's or Bleach's story is better? You should have used Naruto, and even then One Piece's story is miles above Naruto's and light years above Bleach's.

For example One Piece's marineford war arc. The arc is master piece. Naruto's war arc was a joke tbh, so much shit happened and is still happening. Since you haven't seen it, I won't go into detail. :|

If you think Naruto is the best manga, then you're seriously missing out on what One Piece has to offer.

Btw, it was a stupid move to rant about One Piece, especially since you just told us you have only seen like a few episodes.

I don't read one piece I only watch it, but honestly I've liked it from the beginning I liked the entire east blue arc arlong and the armored pirate and the butler pirate with super speed on usopps island were all awesome and honestly I was hooked the first time i saw smoker take down luffy.

Now the baroque works arc go reallllyyy Boring and daggy for awhile in Alabasta and Honestly I hated the entire Skypie arc, except I thought the villain enel was really cool. But then it got awesome from the water 7 arc up again, and some people complain about the fishman island arc but I like it.
