[Theory] One Piece, Raftel and the Void Century

Read the Theory bellow at your own expenses, as I will refer to events in the manga that have not yet occurred in the Anime, and are rather fresh.


What is One Piece? Undoubtedly there is something bigger at the end of the Grand Line than simply a huge treasure left by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. The fact that all Log Poses eventually end up pointing to it, and the fact that the trail of Phoneglyphs end in Raftel, the end of the Grand Line, would make it a matter of great importance. But despite all the technology, both Pirate and Marine alike, only Gol D. Roger was able to reach it.

In fact, in one of his last conversations with Whitebeard, Roger mentioned that there is a special way to reach it, meaning not even someone as powerful as Whitebeard would be able to do it.

Now, as Reyleigh said, Roger had the ability to hear the "Voice of All Things". We knew it translated in not being able to Read the phonglyph, but nonetheless understand their purpose, as if hear their messages. With the risk of going off topic, that alone could mean that there is something special about their origin, not just made out of indestructible materials). In the recent chapter, we discovered that Roger could also hear Sea Kings (And Luffy can too, so he is inheriting the same power).

Now, the Sea Kings are responsible to drag Noah, which is directly connected with Joy Boy, whose letter is written in the Phoneglyph at Fishman Island. So there is some sort of connection between Sea Kings and the Void Century.

Now, following the same pattern as one of my previous theories, what was the ancient civilization trying to protect? And this is what i came up with:

Either as a bless from a God or a bless from a Demon, a tree grew in an island, in my opinion, Raftel. This three would grow beautiful and strange fruits, but would taste extremely bad. Soon the ones who ate the fruits would discover that they had acquired strange and magnificent powers, but would be repelled by the Sea. Soon the whole kingdom revolved around it. Mad with power, some people of the kingdom tried to take over the tree, and keep the power all to themselves, but others knew the power was evil, and had to be forbidden.

There was a great civil war which ended up in the victory of the protectors of the tree. At that point, the Sea Kings were created, and Raftel became impossible to reach. The tree would remain there, it's long branches reaching over the sea, dropping the mature fruits into the ocean currents, bringing them to all corners of the world. Instead of having everyone eat the fruits and get drunk in power, now only a few ones would be stroke by the curse or bless. In this part, I can have a few branched theories. One, the Sea Kings already existed, nesting in the Calm Belts, but a few especial ones were hand picked, Sea Kings with intelligence and power far superior to the others, ruled by a Queen. They settled down in Raftel and protected the Tree. Also, either the currents or the Sea Kings would have the job to bring the fruits to the corners of the World.

The came the 20 Kings, maybe descendants of the people who tried to keep the tree to themselves to acquire greater power. And they tried to reach Raftel. Then the huge battle took place, with the ancient weapons, and took over the whole world. In the end, the 20 Kings won over the ancient Kingdom, and it's people were killed or banished, and the World Government too place. But before that were to happen, they used the weapons to drastically change the world, creating the wacky Grandline and making Raftel impenetrable, while keeping the Sea Kings and the Phoneglyphs to guide the way of the chosen one, who would bring peace to the world.


Reading back on the theory, it is not very good. So the only things that I would like to keep from it is that the tree of all Devil Fruits is at the end of the Grand Line, and the reason why the rare fruits are found all over the world is because they travel the Sea Currents, or are brought in the mouth of the Sea Kings.

It all comes to how will Luffy succeed when the World Government and even the great Pirate King Roger has failed. What is it?? Any Ideas?? I simply am unable to put my foot on where might have Roger failed and Luffy would succeed? Is it simply that there was no Queen of Sea-Kings in existence at the time of Roger?

How is the time frame changing from now to that of Roger's and the reason why the World government having such a large network has unable to establish a base in Raftel even now?? I believe that Raftel is there waiting for Luffy to come and resolve its puzzle.

Good theory, I approve. I think Raftel will be somehow connected to the existance of the Devil Fruits, there must be a reason why they exist, it sounds like something Oda would pull off in the end.

I think we still need more clues though. Man, if only Robin would've read the whole Poneglyph aloud for us...

Tree of Devil Fruit O_O.

I havent, with the exception of a "hmmm, where do DFs come from" very early on in the manga, ever thought to try and figure out where the devil fruits where actually from.

More than plausible your theory.

What greater treasure could there be but that of a DF Tree.
(Too bad there isnt an ancient language that you could make people swear fealty to you in Galbatorix style in exchange for a DF. You could potentially give anyone a DF and take over the gov't.)

Even though they won't need it, Imagine Nami, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Franky (Bring back Vivi) all with DF in addition to what they can already do.
They would be sick freaks of nature. The only person I couldn't see with a DF is POSSIBLE Must wait til next Wednesday to find out if we have a new StrawHat....and I dont see that individual getting a DF.

Either way, there are some people who don't fit with a DF. Buggy for instances ddn't want a DF at all.

Once there was a kingdom on the moon that had advance science technology and it's name was birka(idk if it's spelled right for the english ver. of onepiece but its how it's pernounced in korean). The people of beerka could make robots and dials(the things that they use in sky...pia). However, they migrate to the blue planet because they run out of resources.(the blue planet is earth, and if you see the comic cuts with enel in it when he goes to the moon, you can see wrtings that say people of birka migrated to the blue planet because of lack of resources.) The ship schematic that the people of beerka used to migrate is probably the one that Tom(franky's dad) had.
When the people from the moon(birka) came down to earth, they accepted everyone to join and use their technology in peace and soon developed into a huge kingdom. However, a secret organization wanted to take the power and authority of the ...birka for themselves and started a war. So the birka developed two weapons to win the war.
The weapons are named pluton and poseidon.(idk if the english ver. uses the same names for the weapons but these two weapons are mentioned several times during the comic) Pluton runs underneath the ocean floor to change the tides of the sea to make a shield against enemy ships. Later on, the trace of pluton's drilling underground builds up due to undersea volcano eruptions and becomes the "red line". Furthermore, the cambelt and the grandlne are formed which devided the ocean into four.

Poseidon is a cannon made from fairy bass.(sand from the moon) The sand from the moon has a tendency of coagulating sea water and the solid form of sea water made from the moon sand was used as the cannon ball. Later on, the cannon balls that were used during the war sank into the ocean floor and became ores called seastones.(the stones that devil fruit users are weak against)

even with these extraordinary weapons, the people from the moon lose the war after 100 years of fighting. They conceal the two weapons(pluton and poseidon) so the secret organization can't use it for themselves. The survivers of the people of the moon hide away from the secret organization and take the shape of a half moon 'D' to use as their middle name.(explains Monkey 'D' Luffy, Portgas 'D' Ace, Gol 'D' Roger and so on.)

The secret organization that betrayed and destroyed the people of the moon name themselves "World Government" and start a project to hide their wrongdoings. 1. They erase the 100 years of history of the War.(the 100 years of history that Robin wants to find) 2. They send 20 soldiers to the moon to erase any trace or evidence of the people of the moon.(The 20 soldiers that were sent to the moon are later called World Nobles and their offspring are treated like Kings. This also explains why World Nobles always wear space suits.)

The Survivors of the people of the moon make a small island called rapeutel so that the secret organization can't find them. 'One Piece' is in this iseland and Gol 'D' Roger was the only person to find the Iseland. The reason that Luffy, Ace, Roger, and Blackbeard are not on the Island even when they're all D's is because the people of the moon wanted the world to know the evil deeds done by the World Government. They made Poneglyph's(bits and parts of the 100 years of history) and placed it all around the world and sent out a selected number of their own people(D's) to find it and let the world know the truth. The Birka's(people of the moon) make one final secret weapon while they are on the island of Rapeutel. This weapon's ability is to take the four seperate seas that were devided by Pluton, and turn it back in to one Huge ocean(aka. all blue(the ocean sanji always dreams of)). Because it's ability is to turn four sea's in to one, the weapon is called "One Piece".

2. Pluton and Posiedon are the names of two greek gods. There is a possibility of a third weapon honoring the third god Zeus and based on your theory it must also be in existence? IF so can u figure of how it plays a role?
3. One correction to ur logic is that- Tom-san had the blue prints of Pluton and not the space-ship (franky would have easily identified it).

Wait, how do we know where the df´s come from?
Oda said it would all be explained when a certain man gets introduced in the manga i heard and that man is surely Dr.Vegapunk, the man who can transfer df powers into objects.
What is raftel, the end of the grandline? I know roger said he could tell whitebeard how to reach it but really, i haven´t heard anywhere in the series what raftel is.

One thing is for sure though, there is a connection between one piece,the void century and the real poneglyph.

i am sorry it's not my theory , i just read it somewhere and found it brilliant, i know it misses some points but still it connects many other ones...anyway i think Oda will surprise us even more of what many people can think , the end of the series is gonna be great tottaly, it's sad we have to w8 another 8-10 years :/

LOL .... 8 to 10 years!! I guess so!!! To reach half the grand line it took 10 years and the other half should probably take more. Anyway, as I said earlier the theory you found was interesting. The theory that LILI put forth was also interesting. Lili felt too that some part is missing in all theories. If we club all of them together then its another interesting aspect.

But for now we sure have to wait and see what Oda will come up with. I have a feeling where he is gonna use all the myths that are available in present world and frame up an awesome ending. He has touched parts of Greek Mythology and more of Japanese Mythology (I can think of these two so far). Any other suggestions?

its def possible that the secret to the devil fruits lie there but there has to be something a lot more important.
i personally think buggy's grown fond of his power, he puts on a show just to have a 'excuse' to be mad at shanks for lol

I agree with you on the point that Raftel is probably where the tree that produces the DF is, my biggest thing is that Roger had to have found a way to communicate with the Sea Kings, hence why they let him travel there, also why no one else has been able to, you cant talk to them, they wont let you through, and i think that the marines are pushing Vegapunk so far because he is finding ways to circumvent these rules, hence the seastone, but that they are not able to get to the island because of man-made obstacles, namely pirates that say hey f*ck you we aint letting you get your hands on it, Marines are strong but if the right pirates try and stop them, then they have a problem, and those pirates are the 4 emperor's, WB, shanks, etc... and that the war Shanks had with the other emperor was because he was failing in his duty to protect that island.

And the only ones who have the potential to have the ability to hear the Voice of All things are the ones who have the will of D. Roger, Ace, Dragon, Luffy, etc... but it takes a certain "something" to unlock this ability, Roger managed to do it and now looks like Luffy is able to as well.

Again there are some holes to what im saying but that is my basic thought on the whole thing so far, and the polynegraphs are the guides left by the ancient civilisation that Lilli mentioned (which i believe the whole war thing and WG is currently formed after that victory, any way they are guides to know the history and be able to make it to Raftel, so only with the combination of being able to read the polynegraphs and hearing the voice of all things will you be able to make it to the final island, hence why Roger succeeded and looks like Luffy could as well as long as he survives
