A man named bacon
On the outskirts of Ankor a man who preferred to be called Bacon made his way into town at dawn.He was a man of simple motives with a napsack and the clothes on his back.Since it was winter in North blue, he used bandages made with specially woven fibers to protect himself from the harsh gusts and freezing temperatures. It's safe to say he looked like a mummy in a trench coat, but it was pretty common in that part of the world.
The first thing he did was find lodging at a local tavern named, larry and may's. As he staggered through the front entrance everyone stopped to stare at the fierce looking stranger. His body was covered in numerous icicles which formed at his joints and his unkempt hair. A moment of numerous mutterings filled the room before the silence was broken by an energetic stage performer.Bacon paid no mind to his surroundings. He immediately booked and room and passed out.
That afternoon he ordered food at the tavern. Although he didn't notice anything in the morning, he found everything to be quite lively. Such a sight was unfamiliar to him, especially in a large city such as this. " Sir what will you have" a women's voice exclaimed. He looked up to see a rather tall, but pretty waitress. Her uniform was consisted of a rather short dress with brown stockings. Her hair cascaded below her shoulders and ended up outlining her body's natural curves. " The house special miss" he said with a rather hoarse voice." How will ya have yer eggs?"
" Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, umm scrambled".
She thanked him and reassured him that his order would come up soon enough. Bacon never understood the reasoning behind that, but he nodded while watching her skip away.Suddenly a crass sounding guy patted him hard on the back saying, " hey there fella. You must be new in town"!
"Kishii--, just rolled into town...uhh yer name" he asked as the stranger's took a seat. " Mah name is Albert lad. I see ya got good taste in women" he said while chuckling. Bacon gave him a disgruntled looked, but it was more uncomfortable than anything. " Heh you don't have to shy laddy. I saw ye checking her out". Bacon sat there looking away while blowing bubbles with his bendy straw, breaking eye contact for a moment. " But lad just watch yerself, that girl be trouble". With a slap on the shoulder and a long stretch he walked away back his drinking buddies.
When Bacon was chowing down the waitress decided to "take" her break at his table. Bacon felt slight discomfort as he closed his eyes pretending now to notice her,but the aroma from her perfume was enticing. She straightened her arm so she could rest her head in her palm and sighed, " Why do you look so mysterious when you're so wishy washy"? He glared back at her,but the fork in his mouth only made he look silly. " Tch what do you know, I could be both!" He exclaimed with a fierce proud tone. She only giggle while leaning in, " Lets see what's behind yer bandag--".
It was not just the waitress who stopped talking, but the entire tavern. The massive bell in the town square rung. Which meant every able bodied person was obligated to come to the meeting. The tavern soon cleared completely with the exception of bacon, who obliviously ate his meal. " Let's go lad" Albert said at the entrance. Bacon looked at his food and then his new acquaintances a few items, before reluctantly leaving the pancakes behind.
Droves of people were all simultaneously making their way to the town square while shops closed alike." What's wrong with you" the girl asked with a troubled expression. Bacon answered cluelessly with another question, " What I do"? She sighed and said, " The gathering bells are known throughout all of North blue. Are you not from around here"? He replied, " Well I don't really remember much of anything". She snapped back whispering, " I don't even understand how a person your age doesn't know these custom". Regardless of how strange it was, she told him the basic conduct of the town square gatherings:
1.Keep quiet
2.Eyes on the speaker at all times
3.Don't stand out
