Why do you even feel the need to defend it. One doesn't have to tell other people to give Naruto a chance at least. 
On a serious note OP and Naruto are two different styles of stories. Both have it's ups and downs. Also, not everyone likes both kind of stories. If you like them read them if you don't ignore. Fan wars over it are meaningless.
