I agree Naruto is better but not according to your reasons...The plot is just damn good in Naruto...Whereas in One-piece, you can just do away with some arcs(like the Skypiea arcs) and it wouldn't harm the plot at all...Not that I don't like One Piece or the Skypiea arc but I just love a storyline whee everything that happens ties in to one single story

It shouldn't take 100 chapters to set your series up with all the main players.

The only reason OP's plot has no continuity issues is because Oda takes years to set up the most mundane plot points.
