Good chapter. Luffy is officially high first mate level. He really needs to awaken now so that he can optimize his current level even further.

It's understandable, but things like numbers should be noted. Probably Oda hiding tiny message(s) in them. It can't be a coincidence for such number (888) and Katakuri mocking Luffy. Perhaps I should analyse Katakuri's speech, but this is going to be hilarious. Hilarious as it is hardly to happen that Katakuri will be the 8th in Grand Fleet.

It seems to me that Luffy put the hat over Katakuri’s face because he knows Kara doesn’t want his brothers and sisters to see his mouth, so he did that to help him out of respect. That’s amazing of Luffy, great chapter

I think people like Pudding and Katakuri would share the same trauma as Sanji. Finding true family and acceptance in people not related by blood. What Luffy and Big Mom have in common, is that they unite all races in one group, so that each one will feel acceptance by his own people and community, but what makes Luffy one step ahead of Big Mom is that he can make his enemies on his side:

- Buggy
- Hachi
- Mr. 3
- Robin (yes, Robin. At least she's special case)
- Crocodile
- Perona

These people do things in favor of Luffy, but this is something they decided on their own. Not forced by agreements or something like that.

And the problem with numbers is that people tend to think they are neutral, but the truth is that all numbers in existence are a combination of only 10 symbols. As a result it becomes extremely easy to see whatever you want in them and this counts double for OP. Yes Oda is quite meticulous when it comes to providing details, however that does not mean that behind every single little thing something's hidden or something is being foreshadowed.

It's not because the number 888 has three 8's in them, it means something as that number had to appear either way as that's how the chapters are numbered. Yes it can be a coincidence, it can easily be a coincidence. In fact it would be common sense that it would be a coincidence. What is so unique about this number that there has to be a special meaning behind it? And what's so special about Dogtooth mocking Luffy? That's done continuously by practically everyone.

And you just analyzed what are normal, unambiguous sentences. Putting aside the fact that it are translations, there's nothing weird about any them. For instance it has been explained that in the NW you either fight a Yonkou or you join them and almost no one in the crew of a Yonkou believes that their boss can be beaten. So if anyone picks a fight with one, either they are going to die or may receive the privilege to join the crew. There are no other options and this has been brought up numerous times during this arc and even before that. Bege mentioned this when he and Luffy talked on Zou, that joining BM's crew would solve the Sanji-problem. So Dogtooth saying what has been said several times by different characters is by no means unusual. So why would this imply anything different when he says it? He's just stating a common truth.

The point of foreshadowing something is that it should be inconspicuous, but should leave little doubt in hindsight what it meant. That's not the case with any of these sentences as even if Dogtooth would join, nothing about the meaning of these sentences would change, which makes them useless as foreshadowing.

Any pirate not allied with a Yonkou is a potential enemy, not just the Supernova and the Yonkou themselves are enemies/rivals of each other. We can't forget the Marines and the WG either. So there's no shortage of possible candidates that could swoop down on a weakened BM.

Man that respect by Luffy though, got to give it to Katakuri too, definitely the most likable guy Luffy has fought. Hopefully Kata leaves that dysfunctional family and becomes an ally in the future.

As for the winner, I felt like this was Luffys win, and contrary to what everyone in the community is saying, Luffy woke up and got out of the hole he fell into before Kata did(look at pg.14) he just didn't stick the landing and then Kata was up. But Kata literally was double KOed while Luffy is currently walking on his own, so well that he through his hat on Katakuris mouth. And mind you, he has taken WAY more damage than Kata has. Not to mention Katas attack missed and only seemed to graze Luffys head for the most part.

It's clear as day the winner is Luffy.

Great chapter and a great ending to the fight 10/10.

Reminds me of the old One Piece anime filler humor.

I still watch the anime too.. and this arc has been done great (surprising since it's Toei after all lol).. I like how the anime is handling everything.. and since people like us read the manga as well it's nice to be able to appreciate both ways of story telling for One Piece.

I thought Daifuku and Oven's introduction was cool, but the only thing is, I wish they didn't try to hint at Katakuri's "future seeing ability".. it was poorly done imo and I think they should've just kept that part exactly how the manga was..

I love the gag / humor nonetheless tho
