So you have a problem with Robin and Franky being in the crew then? *thinking emoji* It's almost like the Strawhats changing the way people are and having meaningful impacts on them is a running trope in the series *thinking emoji* *thinking emoji* *thinking emoji*
Robin was actually done very well. With Pudding we did not get enough time and development with her to make it so that it makes sense. That would be like Perona from Thriller Bark becoming friends with Sanji for calling her ghosts cute or whatever. It's just dumb.

Okay. You wanna say it's objectively terrible, then say how it's objectively terrible. Not just saying "It's lame" or "It's cliche." Go ahead and break down as detailed as you can how this is bad aside from "This isn't what I wanted." I'll wait. Objectively, not opinions..
Because all it took was a one liner for her to change her stance when she has been under BM for how long now? I shouldn't have to write a long ass thesis on why that is objectively bad writing.

This isn't even a failure since it hasn't stopped her from doing what she's set out to do. Compare this to Katakuri aiming for something specific, and hitting the wrong person.
The priest wasn't even important so not sure why that is such a big deal to you.

And this is a failure, how? What goal was Big Mom pursuing here that she didn't accomplish?
Her first goal was getting Pudding to marry Sanji. That failed.
Her next goal after that was protecting her photo from the intruders? That also failed.
Obviously her only goal after these two things would be to stop the intruders from messing up things even further, which also failed and is why she didn't want Katakuri to show off, and is why she is still on the chase after them currently.

Another red herring since didn't stop Big Mom from accomplishing anything.
It halted and slowed her down, and iirc(not sure) she still doesn't even have Zeus in her possession.

LMAOOOO I'm done. Last post your problem was it was happening at all. This post, your problem is how it's happening. When you gotta change what you're complaining about when people say something, then you're just being a child.

Btw, no, it wouldn't be. I was about to say it'd make sense if Perona was shown to be insecure about her ghosts, but even as it is that would make a lot of sense considering her character revolves around having the cutest things. It'd be dumb if there's no set up for the payoff.

Because all it took was a one liner for her to change her stance when she has been under BM for how long now?
Time doesn't really mean much when it comes to shit like that. Your parent constantly berating you for a trait you can't control is gonna have a deep impact on you. Especially since it was revealed that Pudding admired Lola for having the courage to leave Big Mom and live for herself while she was stuck being a tool for BM. As said before, set-up and pay-off.

I shouldn't have to write a long ass thesis on why that is objectively bad writing.
The fact that you can't provide any reasoning at all beyond saying what it is in some alternative phrasing and then attaching some buzzword of "lame" or dumb" to it shows you don't have jack shit to say at all.

"Pudding's turn is bad writing because it's lame."

"What makes it lame/bad?"

"She turns because Sanji calls her eye cute, that's dumb."

You on some nut shit, Dannie.

The priest wasn't even important so not sure why that is such a big deal to you.
The dude who was supposed to be the back-up assassin to Sanji? Yeah, totally not important whatsoever. Also ignoring that the main failure is that Katakuri set out to kill an enemy and killed an ally instead. Regardless of how important the ally is, the blunder remains the same because of the missing Sanji part.

Her first goal was getting Pudding to marry Sanji. That failed.
Her next goal after that was protecting her photo from the intruders? That also failed.
For one thing, this isn't what I asked. Nice try at dodging the question. You said that her killing Opera was a failure. I'm asking what goal did she fail at in the process of killing Opera? Cause last I checked, her killing Opera wasn't he trying to do one thing, and doing another due to failure.

Katakuri's goal: Kill Sanji
Katakuri's action: Killed priest, missed Sanji
Result: Failure because Sanji lived

That should help you answer the question.''

Secondly, Big Mom's goal wasn't to marry them, it was assassinate the Vinsmokes. That failure isn't on her, that failure is on the BM pirates as a whole. Including BM and Katakuri. So that's Katakuri's L as well, still putting him ahead of BM.

Obviously her only goal after these two things would be to stop the intruders from messing up things even further, which also failed and is why she didn't want Katakuri to show off,
Oh yeah, BM was just jealous of hyper competent Katakuri who was succeeding left and right. Still an L for the BM pirates as a whole.

and is why she is still on the chase after them currently.
A chase that started with them having a huge advantage and that falling piece by piece with each chapter as they descend deeper into hopelessness in the wake of some of BM's power, yes.

It halted and slowed her down, and iirc(not sure) she still doesn't even have Zeus in her possession.
Zeus and Prometheus have both returned to her. She left them on the shore because they're both hungry and need to replenish their power. It stalled her for a brief moment, and she bounced right back and they immediately lost the advantage, so how is that an L when it in the end it failed to accomplish anything?

That is a sentiment that really only lives on this forum to be honest. When I go to AP Forums, people are loving that Strawhats are shining in different way besides putting them in fights over and over. Bottom line is that Sanji is still a cook and that is what he does best. And if he can save his friends, crew and family by making a cake to save them out of the hands of someone that can't be beat by fighting them. That is pretty cool.

Too bad for the people who have forgotten what One Piece stands for and are expecting serious fights all the time. This arc and the story of Sanji was amazing if you didn't ruin it for yourself by saying every chapter "Mehhh I wish Sanji would fight someone already". People were interpreting the year of Sanji as the power-up of Sanji. But that is on you for having false expectations.

Sadly we don't have many of these reactions like that in these parts, because the only discussions here are only about who is stronger, Character A vs B, who is on 2nd mate yonkou level, and how does that relate to admiral level.

It really is the simplest form of discussion, but I guess that is what you can expect within a One Piece section on a Naruto forum. Most people here probably got sucked in by Naruto and loved it for the simple fights, disregarding that One Piece is not Naruto.

If at the end of the arc the only thing you take away that Big Mom is an overgrown baby and that Sanji didn't shine because he didn't have a big fight, that's not on Oda, but on you. You have been posting these shallow salty baseless one liners for over a year now.

I guess there is no pleasing someone like you when Big Mom controls fire and thunder, walks through the earth and surfs the seas. Smacks away Gear 4th like it's a tickle and sucks Luffy's energy out in seconds. But yea totally an overgrown baby...
I mean... She is trash. LMAO!

She's one of the Yonkou, she's one of the strongest and biggest threats in the entire story and this arc made quite clear as why. So if you're then describing her as trash, yes then you are completely missing the subtleties of what makes a good story and character.

That overgrown baby-attitude of hers is what makes her so dreadful. Having four virtuous pirates like WB or four laid-back ones like Shanks would seriously be dull. It's that erratic, irrational behavior of hers tied to immense strength and power that makes her an existence to be feared. She killed some of her own children and even cannibalized people while not being aware. That is so messed up it's good. To be honest I find her currently more interesting than Shanks as he doesn't seem to be doing anything.

You can say whatever you want about this arc, the opinions are probably everywhere, but one thing is certain and that's it's something entirely different than everything we've had so far. I wouldn't go so far as saying that Sanji was portrayed perfectly as I have my own complaints, however you don't make a character grow by following the same old routine of beating people up.

You just have proven LC's point of that many people here don't seem to have the ability to apprehend anything that goes beyond basic simplicity and rather retort to hollow, mindless comments like "trash" and "overgrown baby".

That's in Sanji's book is an insult to food. If he wanted, he would did that to Don Krieg back before.
We're a long way from Paradise and I think Sanji has learned by now that they're not playing "little pirate games" anymore. The crew made sacrifices to get him, I think he must make sacrifices to get the crew back too.

It's strongly hinted the he is doing something to the food that will defeat Big Mom.

He called it Attack cuisine, he already said it would be a cake that knock her out. It could also be a Newkama recipe. Whatever it is I think it will be some kind of enhanced type of food. Maybe he won't put in literally poison but a combination of spices or something.

We know nothing of Attack cuisine, but sure, Sanji have an arsenal of cooking recipes. Something that of a taste that will make who eats loses his senses. I wonder if Oda gonna make a reference to Shokugeki no Soma.
