Because it's still kind of illogical when taken into the context of the story we have so far. We can argue Sanji's haki isn't strong enough yet but we've seen haki break swords which implies it can make your body > steel so if that's true than most people assume haki should protect his hands from the blast. On the other side of that, an explosion is stronger than a gunshot or a slash of a sword and we don't know if Sanji even has haki strong enough to resist it if there even is haki strong enough to survive a point blank explosion unharmed. Luffy's haki still wasn't enough to stop cuts so I doubt Sanji's is stronger. As for WB that was either an oversight by Oda or he wanted to show WB's character by not having him haki shield himself from the trivial attacks. You mean the handcuffs? Considering even the world's strongest man could get pierced by ordinary bullets, I don't see why so many people are *****ing over this. Like, sure, logically Sanji should just Haki up and survive, but why are people acting like this is the first time Oda has done shit like this?
Thing is, it's not just Oda. Pretty much any character, regardless of the tier, can still get hit and hurt by bullets and slashes and that all that petty stuff. These "oversights" by Oda have been continuous. Just in Dressrosa, Law was being pierced by simple lead bullets from an ordinary flintlock despite having the durability to take slashes from Doffy that slice through buildings and blows that crush steel. It's not the first, and certainly not the last, time we have seen these "oversights." If by now it's still a shock to you that you or something that puzzles you, then I just wanna know what manga you lot have been reading.Because it's still kind of illogical when taken into the context of the story we have so far. Firstly I don't really see it as big an issue as others seem to, I even included some reasoning as to why it's not that unreasonable. Some people are probably bummed that a SH can still be threatened by an inanimate object at this point in the story. Some are upset because they're under the misconception Sanji should just be able to pop them off easily. It doesn't really matter if it's the 1st or 80th time either it's still bound to raise eyebrows when something like that happens especially with all the recognition Oda gets as a planner.Thing is, it's not just Oda. I dont think Sanji being able to take or not the explosion is a problem to me, but this whole handcuffing and cant get out without a key thingy seem just forced and way too generic I'm not saying its bad but certainly not good either there are plenty of ways this whole Sanji story could have gone starting from his boring past ( if that is all of course) and now this whole handcuffing story its just not intriguing enough for it to be the " Sanji year ", that's all.You mean the handcuffs? The year of Sanji is like 5 chapters old, his family is just introduced. Just give it some time man. You should know how this works by now. Oda will take 50 chapters to set the scene, and I'm fine with that because that means the pay off will be bigger.I dont think Sanji being able to take or not the explosion is a problem to me, but this whole handcuffing and cant get out without a key thingy seem just forced and way too generic I'm not saying its bad but certainly not good either there are plenty of ways this whole Sanji story could have gone starting from his boring past ( if that is all of course) and now this whole handcuffing story its just not intriguing enough for it to be the " Sanji year ", that's all.
She doesn't even kno that Caesar is screwing her over so it's not like she backed down from a fight. Lol this is as big of a reach. And Oda made Kaido back down for w/e reason with shanks, the whole big mam is weak claim has no solid argument around it, I think she is probably the weakest but in their league and above in comparison to avg admirals like issho. But her hype is yet to be fully seenBig Mom declared giantification as her dream. Caesar definitely wasn't "minor" in that goal.
Kaido wouldn't care about fighting another yonkos if it's an obstacle to his goal
Whatever the case, it still puts her hype below the other yonkos thus far
What Big Mom think doesn't matter. What matters is what the outside world think of her and so far she failed at it in terms of individual hype compared to the other yonkos that's just it, to the point that Caesar thought Doflamingo could protect him from her, Doflamingo of all peopleShe doesn't even kno that Caesar is screwing her over so it's not like she backed down from a fight. Who cares what the world thinks? What does that have to do with her strength? If "what the world thinks" determines strength now, Luffy would be dead countless times over. What Big Mom think doesn't matter. Luffy is a pirate growing in power. Big Mom's is one of the 4yonkos whose powers are already established and known by the world. They aren't even comparableWho cares what the world thinks? Lol? We're talking about a Yonkou here, we're talking about character portrayal and hype which the author is in full control of, he decides how the verse views characters. Everyone cares what the world thinks.Who cares what the world thinks? What does that have to do with her strength? It really doesn't matter what the world thinks at all, even by a Yonko. All that matters is what they can actually do, and we have no scope of that yet. Caesar seeing Kaido as protection can just as much be because no Yonko attacks other Yonko unless the circumstances are severely drastic.Lol? This doesn't make much sense. The idea of Big Mom going to kill Caesar can only happen if Caesar is unable to complete Big Mom's goal, thus meaning he's disposable. That would no longer make him major or important in Big Mom's eyes, as she wouldn't voluntarily go to kill someone who she still finds important.Big Mom declared giantification as her dream. Caesar definitely wasn't "minor" in that goal.

Lol what no it's doffy + Kaido, doffy isn't beating a yonko ur reaching way too much rn. Kaido backed down from shanks does that mean Kaido is weak. And big mom didn't even back down she merely is ignorant which a lot of strong ppl can be it's not a knock against your strength. And Caesar didn't even tell doffy he just knew he is so valuable that Kaido and doffy would be forced to protect him. And second how is the world involved in this argument it's Caesar who we are talking about and his thought process wasn't terrible. What Big Mom think doesn't matter. What matters is what the outside world think of her and so far she failed at it in terms of individual hype compared to the other yonkos that's just it, to the point that Caesar thought Doflamingo could protect him from her, Doflamingo of all people
Fair enough. I was actually talking just up to this point as there is no way to know what is going to happen hell knowing Oda he can come up with something so good that I take back every word I said, I hope so at least. The year of Sanji is like 5 chapters old, his family is just introduced. Just give it some time man. You should know how this works by now. Oda will take 50 chapters to set the scene, and I'm fine with that because that means the pay off will be bigger.
Calling Sanji's past boring is too simple, It is carefully constructed to reflect his current personality and to tie in with his past on the Baratie. Also these backstories have multiple layers, I'm willing to bet a lot that Sanji's mom will be coming into the picture soon, and the feels will hit the fan.
Also Sanji was already ****ing with the locks and he is pretty damn pissed, as one of the smartest guys in the series he won't play the part of the damsel in distress for long.
