Superficial damages aren't worth shit compared to the destruction of internal organs. It's as if Luffy was fighting a dying Doflamingo right now. All what Doflamingo did was stich the wounds to stop the bleeding. It fucking sucks

Also i find it ridiculous Zoro's character development here. He heard Law died, yet he is fucking doing nothing, acting as if it was normal business. At least Oda should explain why?
because it`s law not luffy not a straw hat no dam given

People still think that Luffy is going "solo" Doffy after this chp.? xD

5/5 chapter, it's pretty insane that Doffy can perform operations on himself.

I disagree. I like that Oda is going from just having Luffy do everything all the time. "Character with deep roots to the villain tries to do something, then fails completely so Luffy steps in and saves the day" was getting repetitive and stale. It's good writing that Oda is going this route. It'd make no sense if Whitebeard's parallel in this generation and one of Luffy's main rivals for the title of Pirate King is someone who has to depend on Luffy. Not only that, but it's better for the person who actually has the deeper ties to the villain to land the defeating blow, or do something that is critical to his defeat. Not only that, but Law is extremely popular at the moment. Doing this would be good also because Oda would be giving the Law fans a treat. I mean, what are Luffy's fans gonna do, complain about how in all of 20 arcs, there was one where Luffy didn't do the finishing blow to the bad guy? That's some petty, fanboy shit, especially when it's compromising to Oda's writing ability.

He has faith in Luffy, remember?

1- Blackbeard is more destinated to be Luffy's Whitebeard than Law(he has his devil fruit and will be his closest rival)
2- Being related to the main villain never meant shit before. Jinbe was more related than anyone in fishmen island arc to stop Hody, yet not only he didn't fight him, but he had to share his fight against an underling with Luffy. Wiper had every reasons to be the one to kill Enel, yet Luffy was the one and so on and so on. Law already did his job in Punk Hazard by beating Vergo(surprisingly). Didn't know he will take control of another arc....
3- Luffy actually deserved to take Doflamingo by himself after his shitty portrayal he got so far, almost dying from Hody's bite, beating fodder Caesar and now he'd fight a dying Doflamingo when Law did majority of the job? What is this? Why is Oda trying to so hard to portrayal Luffy this badly when he make others like Law and even Zoro look better? I'm not excited by this fight anymore

Faith in Luffy has nothing to do with this. Like i've said before, knowing Law is dead should have made him change his mind and go to the palace to help with Trebol around. This isn't the Zoro i knew

1. Eh, not really. Even with the Whitebeard parallel aside, he's still one of Luffy's top contenders.

2. Which is why I said it's good that Oda is going this route. Tradition does not mean it's good or needs to be around forever.

3. Boo-friggin'-hoo. Pretty much sounds like the only problem you really have with this isn't even objective or practical. You simply don't like that Luffy isn't hogging the spotlight for some reason for two little arcs. You've had 17 years of Luffy doing everything against the main villain. 26 arcs. 7 sagas. But two little arcs suddenly have your pants in a twist. It's not the end of the story, Luffy will have his spotlight moments again.

It's funny how people love to say "One Piece doesn't just give its spotlight to just Luffy and the main characters, it does so with side characters. That's one of the things that make OP so damn good unlike certain other manga about blonde assassins who only care about four characters", then flip their shit when One Piece doesn't just give its spotlight to just Luffy and the main characters.

Some people care about more than just Luffy doing everything, and Oda knows this. Some people want their experience with OP to be more than just waiting for Luffy to show up, and actually be able to enjoy the abundance of characters to their fullest potential. I definitely prefer this than Oda squandering his characters so Luffy can make his fans pee themselves.

Awesome chapter! I love this fight as while Luffy normally fights with shear strength, Law fights far more tactical and cunning, which is necessary due to the nature of his DF to use it efficiently.

I also love it how well Oda has developed DD's DF. I mean if you would ask how strings could be useful I would have never considered the idea of patching yourself up...that's just brutal o_O I mean he isn't using any kind of anesthetics, he is sewing his own organs together while feeling every inch of pain it causes .-.

For the first time since the TS Luffy really looks, not just pissed, but very serious and determined while facing an enemy

When Luffy brushed Trebol aside like trash I literally lold

I've been wodering for some time, can the birdcage be destroyed? I mean (let's say) Mihawk would prob be able to cut it open but would that do anything or would Mingo just replace the cut strings with new ones right away? I assume the cage is no real problem if you have Armament strong enough (I imagine Fujitora is in no real danger because of it) but that only works for you and not ppl around you
In theory it should be able to be destroyed, however it was created by a Shichibukai that has the King's Disposition and by default these strings should be harder than steel. So to destroy it completely someone would have to be stronger than Doflamingo and be able to launch a large scale attack that would be strong enough to destroy most of it without hurting (too many) people.

The only way would probably to launch from the inside an attack directly aimed at the top of the cage so that all the other strings would lose their basis. If you would only attack a part of it, only a few strings would be eliminated. If you would attack it from outside from the top, you run the risk of hurting people. On top of that you need to take into consideration that these strings are practically blades. a sword can even cut a bullet in half if the bullet is shot straight at it. So many attacks would lose momentum, strength and would be cut by the strings only ending up falling on the people. If for example Fujitora would launch a meteorite, I see it happen that it would be cut by the strings and then fall on whoever is below it.

Holy shieett! 5/5 just for the surprise and action!

- I dont think anyone saw Law going on the offence like that!
- that attack was awesome , to attack internally not externally. Too bad, doffy has a counter to that also! Wth!?
- Luffy stopping Doffys leg with his own and kicking Trebol outta the way was superb and epic!

Finally after soo much build up and time, the ineveitable battle will take place! Monkey D Luffy vs Donquixote Doflamingo!
Thankfully the spoilers you posted in the chp.780 discussion thread about chp.781 were false. Don't go posting spoilers for the next chapter in a discussion thread, it defeats the purpose of the discussion/predictions. We got a thread just for spoilers for a reason.

So Luffy has to be in every single battle by himself for you to be satisfied?

Ya even Usopp has nothing to do with Law's death but at least he did displayed some kind of concern for him where as Zoro was standing there like nothing actually happened.
Zoro: *known for being stoic and serious for pretty much the entire series, as shown when he had a straight face at Merry's death*
Zoro's fans: What the wtf Zoro with a stoic and serious expression what is this black magic

Usopp is emotional and always cares when someone he knows is in danger. Zoro is not like that, and it's not like Zoro has any type of close bond with Law. They just met like this arc..

We are not expecting him to cry about Law or anything. At least a bit of concern like 'What? he's dead?' should be enough. Law's death is fine but if Law is out of game then it would be 2 VS one for Luffy who happened to be his own captain but he didn't even give 2 shits about that.

That's why Zoro had the "....!!" thought bubble next to him. He's surprised, but he's not a big expresser.

No, i just expect a satisfying 1 on 1 after all those fodder fights when Law on the other side gets all the merits

Did you seriously just compare Law to Chopper and Robin? You also gave scans of Zoro actually being there to witness his teammates harmed? In Dressrosa, Zoro is not even near Law to show any concern.

What exactly is the bond between Law and Zoro?

No, i just expect a satisfying 1 on 1 after all those fodder fights when Law on the other side gets all the merits
Law's development started to bloom this arc and you are complaining about him getting all the screen time? Why exactly is that a bad thing? More characters besides the main cast are getting development and screen time and it's not just Luffy fighting everyone.

If you have a problem with that then you should seriously just stick to that shit known as Naruto.
