Not really considering that it was already implied he survived in the same chapter he was supposed to have died (or the chapter after it, don't really remember but it makes no difference). Also I personally always found it a bit cheap that Oda supposedly killed Sabo in a flash-back. I mean what was the point of introducing his character in the first place then? Oda could have achieved the same without introducing Sabo, so assuming he survived would make more sense.
I can see why most people are glad that Sabo's alive, and yeah, it was suggested that he did survive back then, but it's more the concept that I'm referring to. Whenever someone dies, it has a major effect on the mental state of those around them. We saw the effect that Sabo's alleged death had on Luffy's mentality, and in my opinion, having that death not actually happening makes the changes a lot less meaningful, though that's mostly a matter of personal opinion.
As for why introduce a character just to immediately kill them, I would say it would be to help explain some things about Luffy's character. It was well established that Luffy, Ace, and Sabo had become close to one another, so I think that his death would serve a purpose that would have been otherwise hard to serve. But again, this is just my opinion as someone who typically dislikes a lot of the anime cliches.
actually it's not a cluster**** because, unlike Kishi, Oda already proved with MF he can easily handle this many things going on
as for the Sabo stuff, Caliburn already explained it, most fans were quite sure he was still alive
Regardless, there is a loooooot of stuff going on right now. But yeah, I imagine Oda will handle it well.
Bothered ? Why? There was no point of Dragon showing up there around at that time just to listen to Sabo once. We all knew the his ship picked someone from the sea right after Sabo's went down.
If anything - I wonder if someone paid attention to - how the hell Luffy came out of the building suddenly when he couldn't find an exit for so many chapters? What did I miss?
Again, not saying that I think that it really looked like Sabo died, but that I feel that it would have been better
had he died back then.
And I think that had something to do with the disguises and the mystery man (Sabo) who showed up.
