I've been thinking that his barriers work by absorbing the whole attack then reflecting it at full force. Does this sound plausible or not?

It doesn't. The last attack Bartolomeo's barrier would have "absorbed" would be King Elizabello's punch, and when Bartolomeo hit him, it wasn't even close to that level. IMO

If that's so, then he would have been hit by the excess power. Nah, it was a barrier and it withstood the punch, like a wall. But I'm sure a sufficient powerful punch will be able to do it, something greater than the King's punch. And, like Bellamy, someone (Luffy?) will be able to outmaneuver the barriers

i just wonder if Bartolomeo can imbue his barriers with Busoshoku Haki
, it would be interesting to see

could he make a barrier around himself? capture people or objects with his barrier? freely move the barriers (or are they immobile unless launched like with barrier crash?)

Doffy works under Kaido so I guess he's trash. Rayliegh worked under Roger so I guess he use to be trash. *SMH*
