O_O I'm with Wolfwood O_O Why wouldn't you want the Whale Shark to join o_o he is already a partial member of the crew and he fit in perfectly with the stance when they all opposed Hody & crew
Even though he is a an amazing fighter and an overall amazing character, even though his fightning style does fit the Post Time-Skip Straw Hat's figthing style, and well, even though he is an Helmsman and the SH don't really have a permanent helmsman, personality wise, he doesn't seem to fit the Straw Hats.

Apart from Robin, no one from the SH is really mature, but rather have lapses of wiseness and maturity when it is required. Robin's story fit the SH though, and looking at what she had to go through her entire life, they are the perfect crew. And after throughout the journey, she evolved so much that she began to let herself loose and even participate in some of the partying and goofing around of the crew.

Jinbei doesn't fit. He is too mature, and he has the qualities of a captain. After everything that's going through FI, and propbably from what's going to happen, Jinbei will most likely stay to help Shirahoshi and the princes. Even if he doesn't, he just doesn't fit.

What's his dream? What's his reason to join Luffy, other than considering him a great man? Even though he certainly fits fightning wise, I just don't see him as a SH.

He has the same dream as the queen, he will join to show the world that fishmen and humans can work together

And that if he joined, he'd have higher bounty than his captain:p

Well, the reason that he would join the straw hats is his promise to ace. That he will look after Luffy. They show this flashback many times since Luffy first meets Jinbei, and has been a recurring theme.

I also think his personality does somewhat fit with the straw hats. Although serious at most times, he has plenty of lapses in his personality. Take for instance him and Luffy fighting over who would save the Princess, and who would fight Hody. To me, that was pretty funny.

We haven't seen all of Jinbei's personality as of yet, mainly because since he's been introduced it's been nothing but serious battles/predicaments. Hopefully you'll change your mind, Lili :lili:

Well not necessarily, I don't think this Fishman Island arc is going to have a huge bearing over Luffy/any of the crew getting a higher bounty. /Wouldn't him agreeing to be Luffy's underling, only raise Luffy's bounty?

Jinbei didn't even join the WB crew, why would he join the SH crew? On top of that it would absolutely not fit his character =/ Jinbei is a freaking ex-Shichibukai. Joining the SH crew would be like he's accepting Luffy as his superior. Then you just killed Jinbei.

I don't see his conversation with Luffy as a lapse in his personality. He just told Luffy what he wanted to ehar. though when he was trying to come up with a name for the plan, that was considered a lapse. Still no.

And btw, you're basically saying that his dream is to be Luffy's nanny.
And apart from Mary Poppins who gives you drugs, no one likes nannies.

Hurts just thinking about how franky was forced to join...

Well, I hope so then. But his defeat against Wadatsumi just made me... :no_ignore: on him. Like wake up... you're the freakin Kraken...

And to his "dream": You think the best way to do that is to join a pirate crew? Look at me, I'm a pirate! Love the fishmen!!

I see where you're coming from, but he wouldn't really be a nanny. It's just maybe something that he would keep in mind, a promise to a dead friend.

It just seems as though he will join, idk. It would be pretty cool XD

Also thanks for the rep, LOOL ;)

Well he cant stay with the people of fishman island because he is so wanted by the world government being a former shichibukai... so he has to go somewhere, he will either join the SH crew or form his own crew with the remenants of Hodi's crew to keep them from causing problems with the fishmen trying to join the light and humans... at least that is my thoughts on the subject. And I'm pretty certain that Surume will join and replace Chopper as the emergency food supply.

Why would Luffy get higher bounty from getting stronger underlings? Luffys bounty reflects Luffys threat to the government as a single person, doesn't have anything to do with his crews bounty.
He could have the bounty 1 000 000, and have underlings with 100 000 000.

Luffy will be getting a higher bounty for being alive, scaring the shit out of sentoumaru, destroying 2 pacifasta's in the blink of an eye and regrouping his 600M bounty crew again. So I don't think the bounty will be any issue. Besides I think we are making a bigger fuss about the bounty then Luffy would. He probably doesn't even care. You can't deny that Jinbei has everything to join. Strong, Unique fighting style, he is the long awaited fishman, wants to show the world that people and fishman can live together. So far he hasn't been messing up the monster trio either.

As for Zoro... Will this be the first big fight which he will leave without lifethreatning wounds ?? Hyozo has been shown blocking luffy's jet punch and counterattacking him while Hody was completly incaple of doing that. So could it be that Hyozo > Hody ?

Interesting, I feel Zoro will down him but i have a feeling that he might get poisoned in the mix because he managed to poison luffy but luffy was able to fight it off, this will allow Dr. Chopper to show off his new medical knowledge as well

Loved the chapter. We're finally getting to the epic battles..!

Decken's powers are really useless, and it's great that he's out of the way. Luffy's snake shot looked painful. Was it a pistol + grab attack infused with haki? I don't think it would've hurt as much otherwise.

A one-hit KO for Surume? C'mon! I don't think she/he's that weak! It would've been epic to see the two (surume and the giant) fight it out but I completely forgot about that when I saw Jinbei doing a "Round House Kick" on the giant xd I also love how Sanji reacted towards Nami getting thrown down due to the wind pressure. I think that Sanji and Jinbei are too much for the giant. Maybe Sanji would have been enough? Either way, can't wait to see what happens!

Zoro is BADASS! Once again...:p
"He might make a good warm up before we enter the New World"
an epic quote!

I can't wait to read the next chapter...! >.<

I don't think he will be unharmed... Blue Ringed Octupus' poison is a bitch...

We're on the same page, xd
I like that idea about Chopper showing off his powers.
And this would do wonders for the millions of ZoCho's out there xd

Does anyone feel bad for Waratsumi? He fell off the ship van de Decken left him behind to die. Then he is lied to. Then Jinbei breaks his hand and sanji kicks him in the head. He was crying all the time and he looked sad and lost. Next week Jinbe and Sanji are going to pummel him :( I'd rather see that they kick that little chewing dog like commander. I hate that guy. But he is probably Chopper's. I want Usopp to have an awesome fight too this arc. It has been too long for him.

About Zoro's wounds... (off topic)

When he was fighting those humandrills (baboons) on Mihawks island his old wound opened up he got on Thriller Bark. When I read that again I was reminded that only a few days have past since the crew picked up Brook defeated Moria. Till the end of the war and Luffy's anouncement.

Oda filled a couple years worth of story about maybe a week in the One Piece universe pretty crazy.

Holy mother of god you're right O__O! That's freakin' amazing. Now that I think about it I can't figure out how he pulled that one off. He's a better time manager then the script writer of 24 (tv show) lol.

Anyway, the debate on whether Jinbei will join or not seems to be going well :p I stand by what I once said; he will not join. Lili pointed out all the important stuff.

All in all it was a good chapter, but not amazing. I was somewhat disappointed in the plot development. Not that I want to rush things, but I really can't wait for the New World arcs to begin. Still, gotta love Zoro's badassness
