One Piece Kaizoku Musou – Chopper, Drum Island Arc Confirmed:

A brand new scan of One Piece: Kaizoku Musou has been released! It features our furry little friend, the Straw Hat Pirates doctor, Tony Tony Chopper! If you look directly to the right of the Chopper art, there are some very small glimpses of him in his Heavy Point form. To the left of the art is a scene from the anime where Luffy holds Dr. Hiluluk’s flag, essentially confirming the Drum Island arc!

Also, media for One Piece: Kaizoku Musou has been subtly hinting at co-op play. 1:06 into the Jump Festa One Piece: Kaizoku Musou Trailer, you can see Luffy fighting some thugs along with Zoro and Nami. The scan below, in the screenshot at the bottom right, shows Zoro jumping next to Luffy. We aren’t too sure if it’s multiplayer co-op play where you can enjoy the game with friends, tag team swaps where you can switch characters mid-battle like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, or if it’s like a Naruto Storm assist character type scenario where the CPU controls other characters. Saiyan Island hopes it is the first of those three!

Four Pages of New One Piece Kaizoku Musou Scans:

Thanks to michaels for sending us four pages of new One Piece: Kaizoku Musou scans! They features art and many screenshots of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro whipping some enemy butt! Many of the Luffy and Zoro screenshots are ones we’ve seen in the past via images and trailers. Additionally, Nami, Dracule Mihawk, and Buggy the Clown are pictured in the scans as well. Note we haven’t mentioned two characters yet. The first is Sanji, who we know is a playable character, and the other is Don Krieg, who we are seeing for the first time in a One Piece: Kaizoku Musou scan! If you recall, Don Krieg was the main villian of the Baratie Arc – the same arc in which Luffy met Sanji. By the looks of it, Don Krieg will one of the bosses players will have to fight in this exciting One Piece PS3 adventure!

One Piece Kaizoku Musou Features Multiplayer, PSN Support:

PlayStation Japan has revealed One Piece: Kaizoku Musou (One Piece: Pirate Warriors in English) will be for one to two players! The type of multiplayer, however, has not yet been revealed. There has been a scan that shows a partner strike system in which Zoro takes the place of Luffy in combat. A tag team scenario, if you will.

In the Jump Festa Trailer, about 1:06 in, we see Luffy on-screen with Zoro and Nami. That’s 3 characters on screen at the same time so we wonder if two human players can play together with a computer teammate or if Nami is even playable. We’ve only seen Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp as playable characters, but again, PlayStation Japan has said the game is for one to two players, so at the moment we’re not sure how multiplayer will work.

Additionally, PlayStation Network (PSN) support has been confirmed. There aren’t any details on how PSN will be utilized, but let’s all hope it’s not like Bleach: Soul Ignition, where PSN support meant players could download three free episodes.

Lastly, below are three recently released screenshots. They have actually been seen in some of the past scans, but we offer them to you again for your enjoyment!

One Piece Pirate Warriors Has Rob Lucci, Kaku, Crocodile:

A brand new scan of One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese) has been released! It’s actually a partial scan, but if you look closely you will see Rob Lucci, Kaku, Wapol and Crocodile. It’s unclear whether these characters will be playable, but from the looks of it they look like boss battles. Based on the characters confirmations we can derive from this scan that the Alabasta Arc and Water 7 will be in the game in some shape or form. It’s hard to say, but it looks like the insides of Enies Lobby and the Tomb of the Kings are shown.

Straw Hats in Action, Boss Arlong in One Piece Pirate Warriors Scan:

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Franky, Usopp, Chopper, and Robin have all been confirmed as playable in One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese). The game is slated to have a main story mode, but also mode where each character has it’s own storyline. In this character centric mode some of the Straw Hats paths intersect with one another and battles with other Straw Hats will take place! The game also has “what if” scenarios that put the Straw Hat crew in situations not seen in the One Piece manga.

You can see some of the Straw Hats in action below! We’ve seen Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji in multiple scans and videos already so this one focuses on Nami, Franky, Usopp, Chopper, and Robin. We have yet to see Brook in an in-game senario, but based on the First One Piece: Kaizoku Musou Trailer from September where he is briefly seen in the intro, it would be surprising if he isn’t in

Also, the partial scan from yesterday has been released in a higher quality. It features Crocodile, Rob Lucci in his leopard form, Kaku in his giraffe form, Wapol, and Arlong! It seems as if all of these enemies are boss battles. One Piece: Pirate Warriors is an action/adventure game, but the Crocodile vs Luffy screenshots make it look as if the game also has 1-on-1 traditional fighting game components. If so, that would certainly add to the depth of what looks to be the greatest One Piece video game ever!

One Piece Kaizoku Musou Box Art (High Resolution):

It was back in December when we first laid our eyes on the One Piece Kaizoku Musou Box Art. However, that iteration was packaged with the One Piece: Kaizoku Musou Treasure Box so it was in a smaller resolution then it could have been. Finally, a high resolution of the box art, singled out, has been released! It’s no different from the Treasure Box edition, but it’s always nice to see a box art singled out in it’s full glory!
