Seen the episode live on Japanese TV.

Was over the top amazing. Animation was top notch like expected in the thread that was opened about it last week.

Only part I didn't like too much was the very stretched out last attack. Luffy's arm must have been a kilometer at that point and i think the turning wasn't very well done. In the manga it seems at the turns as if the arm uses 'sky walk/geppou' to steer, here it just bends with a little puff of smoke here and there.

Also Toei made it not a complete slaughter but gave Doffy some moments.

9/10 episode,

next week looks also good with the awakening but I fear the running and stalling with Gatz. I hope they can contain that to one episode.

LMAO they hyped the shit out of culverin , though that looked completely epic so no complaint. I think it;s fair to say that G4 was very well done in anime, good job toei. I love how luffy started stretching his words just like his body, it kinda reminded me of jiraya(the pose and the style of speaking)


Definitely a 5/5 Ep

Animation was great, thankfully I didn't have my expectations too high. I noticed some filler was added to fight but still a great ep.

Luffy's face while yelling "Gear Fourth" is by far the ugliest thing I've ever seen from this anime.

The animation was decent overall. Seeing the ep made me wish the fight in the manga wasn't so one-sided. The Kong Gun was kinda underwhelming the actual shot of Doffy being thrown back came on. But, overall, it was lit

Man... I love how they animated him bouncing. XD It brought a nice balance of comedy to a badass form. I was crackin up when the citizens of dressrosa saw him bouncing around, but then I like how fast he switched to being in a serious attack mode.

Overall: they did a great job with G4. But like Riker said that Kong Gun was just a tad bit underwhelming for real.

I hope they make Luffy's final attack epic as f*ck tho!

It should have been Luffy disappearing, immediately reappearing in front of Doffy, and they could have stretched out him cocking back his arm a bit. To me, showing Luffy moving towards Doffy took away from the "DAMN HE GOT BLITZED" effect.

Man they kept switching animators and styles mid fight. Not cool. Still a solid ep, could have been better if it was more consistent.

I feel like they shouldn't have shown Luffy flying over towards Doffy. It should have been Luffy disappearing, immediately reappearing in front of Doffy, and they could have stretched out him cocking back his arm a bit. To me, showing Luffy moving towards Doffy took away from the "DAMN HE GOT BLITZED" effect.

Nah that was really satisfying, you could feel the force of how fast he was travelling. Simply having him disappear wouldn't do it justice.

Where it could have improved is the stupid little pause they had before the hit. That's what slightly ruined it.

Ahh yeah bro! That would've given it a better feel imo also. Even if they atleast showed Luffy in that flying towards Doflamingo position, for only a second, it would've been okay as long as they had him dissappear like a teleport almost (I'm thinking Rock Lee vs Gaara) mid-flight, then BAM reappear infront of Doffy and like you said, cocking back that Punch way more to show some more force behind it. Idk... I just thought it looked more powerful in the manga.

Luffy pronouncing ''Gear Fourth''and ''Boundman'' sounded a bit like Jirayja when busy with his wild antics.
First time I actually liked the scenes where the people in Dressrosa were running for their lives, the music and desperate atmosphere were spot on.

Note when Luffy Rhino Schneidered Doffy's face his sandals magically appear back on his feet xd

Terrible.... animation was only good for the fight part of the episode and half the episode was civilians running and screaming instead of the fight. The fight failed to show luffy dominate doffy like in the manga and didnt feel like luffy was powerful at all. That python was complete bs. I also feel like since the timeskip the music has just been completely off, this episode had terrible music and terrible timing for it, playing a happy go lucky song in the moment that luffy was supposed to be badass... really!??? Play luffy mukou or or very very very strongest, fit the theme way better, also dragged out as usual... ugh completely let down by this, I gave it a one star but I guess I should give it 2 because at least the animation was good for all of 6 minutes.

That entire situation with enel was much more humorous imo because enel was killing everybody and no one thought luffy could stand a chance and then lol go figure rubber cant be hurt by lightning but also enels face kinda made the situation less serious whereas with doffy this has been ramped up for so long and doffy is so evil and serious that I didnt think it fit at all. Guess in a few weeks I will rewatch this as a badass amv when someone makes one.
