Ohoh... I'm surprised to see Manga Series coming close to One Piece's numbers... it's usualy just One Piece on top and then several tiers bellow we see other series... Will it be overthrown soon?

This is what kinda bothers me about the minority of the OP fanbase. They think it's the best manga because it's the best selling manga. OP is the best manga I ever read and it's my all time fav. but I won't mention it's high sales when I want to tell someone why it's the best manga I've read.
If you need to show off the sales to tell people why it's the best manga that's pretty insecure. Anyways this is great news but there's no need to be a **** about it and belittle other series. I hope OP reaches it's 10th year of being the top selling manga. I'm happy for Oda.

There's a chance of AOT & NNT overthrowing OP since both series are getting their animes in 2016.
Nice list well and Terra Formars is not that underrated after all it has more copies than Tokyo Ghoul which surprises me but thats good Terra Formars needs time to shine
No, it doesn't and don't demean OP like that. OP doesn't need it's sales to prove how good it is. Again, you need sales to prove how good OP is. If you need popularity/high sales to prove how good it is then you're just insecure. :yeah:

People buy OP volumes & volumes in general for different reasons, that's my point. I never even claimed that it is bad. I'm a OP fan as well but just because a large amount of people support the series (buy volumes), it doesn't mean it's the best series. I, myself, think OP is the best manga but obviously for different reasons that has nothing to do with it's success. Ofc that's opinion as well. We all have our perception of what quality is so it's all opinionated. Most of the time and certainly with OP, there's many biases included. That's what I'm emphasizing here, it's opinion. Obviously, OP's success isn't an opinion as pointed out with it's high sales figures but whether it's the best or not is an opinion.
You're insecure that you had to bring up these sales just to prove that OP "solos". It's already obvious with the intentions of your thread and the posts you've made on this thread. Why can't you just celebrate OP's success, rather than being a **** about it and belittling other series?
So what if they say One Piece sucks? You enjoy the series, do you not? "Art is bad" is just their opinion, just like how it's our opinion that OP is the best manga. Be honest here, do you really think people are going to give OP a chance when they're shoving the sales in their face? They already know it's a huge success.

Sales means a lot actually. Especially once you are already a mainstream show sales means a lot. Bleach used to be top 5 in its prime, the quality of the manga suffered and look where its at right now. Naruto used to be in the top 3 and in its later years could hardly even make top 6 (during the notorious war arc). People will start dropping the series if its quality declines.
So yea for mainstream manga popularity means something...its not the be all end all, but you can't simply ignore it.
Just looking at the top 10 alone those are all good series.

You know there could of been better ways than showing how much you love it. Someone easily could of took it as a jab at their fav. series since you did say it solos your fav. and it was really unnecessary. It is a game of opinions, nothing here is factual when it comes to how good the series is.
Just because a lot of people bought a lot of OP volumes doesn't mean it's factual that it's the best series. How do you even know that people bought it for the right reasons that match your taste of preference? For example, someone could of bought the a volume since their fav. character makes an appearance or does something epic. There's usually always biases when it comes to what the consumer purchases.
There's also that difference between entertainment and quality. For example, I find DB to be really entertaining since it's crazy action that it offers but it's level of quality doesn't come no where near it's level of entertainment it provides.

Not really. I'm not saying these series are good or bad. What I am saying it's opinion. For example, you said all the series in the top 10 are good series but that's just your opinion. I personally don't find AOT to be good and I know many others don't find all the series in the top 30 to be good. It's preference.
Again, that's what other people are doing. It's their opinion if they think the quality is dropping. Even with the war arc of Naruto, I found it to be bad but that's only my opinion. Not something factual, just like how a majority didn't like it. There were people who still genuinely enjoyed the war arc! We all read or watch series for different reasons.
Same thing applies with music, by your logic, would you say every successful album that reaches the top 30 for the fiscal year is good? Not all the time or maybe sometimes it is. It's all subjective... That's my point.

Ofcourse it is all subjective, but this is the opinion of countless people, never bring music into this. The music industry is filled with favourism money, and background scheming, a lot of times the more you pay someone off the more chances you have of blowing up.
You didn't seem to get the point.
Once you have made it to the top 10 from there on sales mean a lot. They mean everything infact.
You can ignore series outside of the top 10 for the most part as they simply didn't get the mainstream recognition, but among the top 10 you must look at sales. And its all relative to the series itself, if AOT is 3rd right now and next year it drops to 8th? That means a lot, it means many readers are losing interest in the show, most of the time this means the quality of the show has dropped, its almost the same case everytime.
Cause once you have a big fanbase its hard to lose that. So sales mean a lot. When Naruto dropped out of the top 3 to outside of the top 5 it meant a lot because Naruto's fanbase is so big.
For series that are not as well known sales do not mean as much.
So basically what I'm saying is, sales represent how well a series is doing within itself (is the series rising? falling? staying consistent?). Not so much as a comparative tool among other series.

What do you mean but LOL? It's opinion keep it at that. Doesn't matter about the quantity. Dude, like I was saying a few posts earlier, that's quite the insecure way of thinking if you need the vast majority of people's opinions to "confirm" your opinion. True, there are other variables that go into the sales of music albums but the same applies to manga sales as well. Obviously not to the same degree but still there's other variables. Not everyone purchases volumes mainly for quality or if they do it could be biased.
You didn't get my point either or at least you say do but you end up contradicting yourself. You say it's all subjective then why should you caring if other people are dropping it? To see if it's rising or falling? That should be your judgement at the end of the day. To me, I take sales serious in the aspect if it will get cancelled or end up getting rushed. Even then, it's not always the case since there's other factors that contribute to if the series will keep going or not. I really don't see the point in looking at sales to see if the series is good or not, that answer should be determined by yourself not what others think.
I agree that it shouldn't be a comparative tool but the OP implied otherwise and that's why I stepped in.
