Hello. This would be my first time writing fanfics since 2004. I wrote many fanfics at that time, mostly for Harry Potter (I was a Ron x Hermione shipper). Now that I'm entering a story making contest I'm trying to rid myself of rust here. Hope you'll like it.

Chapter 1
Cutty Flam looked up at the freshly painted signboard. Bakaburg told him there was an amazing coffee shop here, and that it used ingredients from all around the Grand Line. Looking at his built-in watch which told him it was nearing sunset, Franky thought about going inside and having a sip. After all, Luffy declared that they were to take a break, and Franky super appreciated it.
He then decided to enter the shop. As he surveyed the area, it smelled of freshly varnished wood and coffee. The walls were painted as stripes, one a calm beige and the other a dark yellow. The floor was made of crushed seashells and marble. A sweet jazzy tune was playing in the air, and the murmurs of the customers could also be heard. The chairs at the center were made out of sturdy coconut wood, while the sofas near the glass windows were decked out with Sea Monster leather and painted a light green. The ceiling had fans, a new invention made by the genius Vegapunk.
He chose to sit near the windows, big shoulders notwithstanding. A waitress went and took his order. She looked young, about 25 - no, 23? Either way it looked like her first time on the job and Franky wasn't gonna make it hard for her on her first day. Taking the menu and leafing through it, he then decided on a particularly strange flavor.
"Cola Coffee, please," Franky smiled. The waitress, who had been waiting on tenterhooks that she even forgot to greet him, sighed and smiled in relief. "Your Cola Coffee will be ready in 3 minutes sir." She then skated away to put in his order, and no doubt to give herself a self-congratulatory pat on the back for a job well done.
Franky then looked out of the window. About a week had passed ever since he went back to Paradise. He had Den with him, but right now he was with the Galley-La shipwrights and he didn't want to interrupt the time of his life. Instead, he reminisced about the time Luffy beat one of the famed Yonkou, the feared Big Mam Charlotte Linlin. Everyone on the crew was gravely injured, and Usopp was trying and failing to get Zoro out of the illusion that three-eyed chick put on him. Luffy had a great gash on his back, one he got while protecting Nami from one of Big Mam's bladed teeth, and his left arm slowly melting from Big Mam's saliva. Chopper was busy trying to negate the acid with many types of bases but with no avail. He was a doctor to begin with, and not an acid expert. Brook, Sanji and Nico Robin were distracting Big Mam, and he himself aided them in doing so.
"Kintothias, Fantasia!"
"Diable Jambe, Poele a Frire, Spectrum!"
"Mil Fleur, Gigantesco Mano, Slap!"
"Charging complete! Franky Radical Beam!"
The four attacks hit Big Mam simultaneously, sending her reeling. If this was the Yonkou about 15 minutes ago, all those attacks would have missed. Luffy did a good job in weakening her significantly with a new attack, Red Hawk Gatling.
"AH!!"
Franky looked in Robin's direction. A rock the size of Thriller Bark was heading towards her, and she couldn't do anything to stop it! Sanji was too far away, and Brook lacked the strength to break such a huge chunk. What should I do ..?! Ah, whatever, I'll just super save her even if it costs me my life!
"Check this out! Tactics 4! Franky Rocket Launcher! Star Shield!"
The rockets burst out of Franky's humongous shoulders, intercepting the island-sized rock. Exploding upon impact, the rock nevertheless had huge chunks falling, but Franky took care of it with his new Star Shield.
"Thank you, Franky," Robin gasped. That was one of the scarce times she was actually fearing for her life.
"No problem, Robin," Franky replied, his lips curving into a smile. "You'd do the same for me after all."
Yeah, Nico Robin. The crew's super archaeologist. If it wasn't for her they'd have all died back there against Big Mam. When they all met back at the Sunny in 2 years he never realized how super appealing she was. It was only during his treatment that Robin volunteered to do that he realized her qualities. Thinking about it, she had always been by her side since the CP9 fiasco. Same goes for Thriller Bark and Fishman Island.
Just then, the bells at the door signaling the entrance of a new customer tinkled.
"Nico Robin!"
The 30 year old Strawhat looked at Franky's general direction, pleasantly shocked at meeting her nakama.
"Fancy seeing you here, Franky."
