Back to Water Seven
Chapter 3
"Aokiji."
Nico Robin sat rooted on her seat, her hands visibly shaking now. Her expression was one of utmost terror, the kind that you would get if you had no way out of death. Franky stood up, attempting to protect his precious nakama.
The former Marine Admiral wore his trademark purple shirt with the white tweed vest over it. His yellow tie was no longer there, instead replaced by a green one. His slacks and shoes were, as usual, spotless.
Regarding the pirates with a bemused expression, he sauntered over to them as slowly as he could. With each step, it was as if every sound his footfall had made the establishment reverberate with the echoes of finality.
Drawing up a chair from a nearby empty table, he sat down on it after ordering a Cappuccino Shake from a passing waitress. Franky regarded him with a glance so piercing you could swear lightning was coming out of his eyes. Taking no note of this, Aokiji happily broke the ice.
"Arara, how unexpected to see the two of you here," remarked the Blue Pheasant as Franky returned to his seat. "Tell me the truth, have you found One Piece yet?"
Too scared to speak, Robin couldn't mask the terror off her face. Seldom did she wear her expressions on her face like clothing, yet here it seemed her heart was bared to both the cyborg and the logia.
"YOU tell us the truth, bastard," threatened Franky, fists clenched. "What business do you have here in Water Seven? Are you here to capture Robin once again? I will not let that happen, not on my watch -"
"Hold it, Cutty Flam," interrupted Aokiji, hand raised. "As you may already know, I am no longer an Admiral. I have resigned from my position, and so no longer hold any authority in the Marines or in the World Government."
As Aokiji explained his situation to Franky, Robin noticed some things about the former admiral. One was that, his face was lined more than before. His left hand had some kind of burn on it. His face was one of lazy confidence back in the past when she last saw him, but now, it gave off the impression of someone who had gone through a lot.
Before she could ask him what happened during those times, their orders arrived. One Cola Coffee for Franky, one Black Coffee for Robin, and one Cappuccino Shake for Aokiji. She deemed it the best time to ask.
"Aokiji-san, if I may ask, why did you fight Akainu?"
Franky's eyes widened. Aokiji's eyebrows rose. Robin was always the inquisitor, the interrogator, the detective. She could always get what she needed by herself. They both smiled. It just meant Robin had matured emotionally, and had at least gotten over her wall of pride.
"Hmm, how should I say this ..?" Aokiji sipped a tiny bit of his beverage before continuing. "It has something to do with why I am here. It has a lot to do with you, actually."
Taking a deep breath, Aokiji took the plunge.
"Nico Robin, please be my wife."
Disclaimer: I don't own anyone blah blah.
A/N: Sorry it's so short, I'm pressed for time and this was all I had written down on the yellow pad.
