[Question] One Piece Art Is Bad!?

It's incredible unique is what it is!

Honestly, let me be absoluely and perfectly honest here. This is the truth.

When I first encountered one piece, many years ago, my sister said. "Look at this manga, you should totally read it!"

I was put off my the art.
It was weird, it was to different, I didn't like it, and at that time, I passed the manga over pretty quicky because I did not like the art.

Years after and I tried again, and ones I got used to the art.. I ended up loving it! Falling in deep love. The art work is the unique spirit of one piece.
It's insane, it's weird, some-times it's beautiful. Like the story and humour, it is just completely out there and compleately its own, and I get it, I get it if some people don't like it! I started out on the same boat.
But now, I have learned to really appreciate it, and I love it just the way it is. I think One Piece has delivered some really beautiful, clever and some-times pretty hillarious art work

It's not bad for drawing, it's just unique drawing style...

But it just isn't on the caliber of the drawing that many are...

not really all that long (about 30 min) I just picked up my volumes and listed through them real fast and linked some random cool pages from OPB after I looked up the chapter number in the volume

It has its own style... Not saying that it's a very good one. I think the art used to be a lot better but lately the quality became worse imo.

HxH and berserk are the only manga with art that was noticeable to me. HxH is obviously bad, but Berserk I can't quite put my finger on. I got used to them.
One Piece on the other hand is not bad, especially the background art. The characters are somewhat weird, foxy being one of them, but that's not enough to use it as a detractor.

Go find some manga scans that are bad if you want to make a decent argument.

Yeah, that's poor for manga.

It's neither clean nor intricate, plus the style changes so often.

It's not as bad as the eyesore that is Dragonball, but it's no way near great. Giving us a load of pics only serves to prove that point.

I love Oda's art its so mangled and mixed info which makes it detailed very much, I mean in last chapter first ussop page u can see 10ton fake hammer among the debri.


U know what pple call clean manga for me is large infoless white pages with a few dark lines on them I mean yah well they may make good osters and what not but manga is a story and for me any page with Luffy even withought dialouge seems to say a lot. I love that elephant thor page has like a 3d effect om the arm.

Oda knows how to do scenery and objects.

But when it comes to people and proportions. It suddenly gets shitty for me. It doesn't help that the MC is scrawny and can stretch either. Makes me feel like i'm watching a children's show.
