Another question(s).What episodes are the major fights? How does Luffy get 2nd Gear? 3rd Gear? What exactly are theses gears?
He gets both gears in one arc, but when and how and what are for you to find out.. try not to spoil it too much for yourself and just watch everything, you will NOT regret it.

i would sugest looking at episodes with introduction's to crew mates , its always interesting then(nami is introduced in episode 1 anyways)
episode 2.-intro to zoro
episode 9- intro to usopp
episode 18- intro to sanji
episode 67- intro to robin
episode 81- intro to chopper
episode 233- intro to franky
episode 337- intro to brook

or you could start at the sabaody archipelago arc , amazing arc and is sure to get you glued to one piece
from episode 390

to answer other questions:

2nd gear and 3rd gear is achieved through observation of rokushiki used by CP9 in the water7 arc , he fights blueno as the debut of 2nd gear , and the 3rd gear is first shown vs lucci , the gears are different powerups which bring amazing enhancements to his strength , even more so for gear 3rd , however it has a major side effect , i wont spoil too much

luffy vs crocodile
luffy vs Gekko Moria
Luffy vs CP9, the epicness of luffy's gears and zoro's badass asura aura ability.
Looking into theses fights to download right now, thanks!

well if you watch the whole episode, i can't find the complete one
The episode was full of average animation and art that I'd expect from One Piece. It wasn't anything compared to the animation bursts Naruto has had in the past. It seems the only Naruto animation you could actually say is worse than One Piece is the small amount of animation fails in the Pain fight. As for art, you simply can't compare it to Naruto's. Oda draws most of his girls aneorexic half of the time and gives them unproportional bodies at many times. When looking at the characters from a certain angle they can sometimes appear even worse in the art department, and this in NO WAY makes the animation better nor does it give him more time to make it better. It's simply how Oda's art is. I'm not particularly saying he's a bad artist, but he lacks detail and redeems himself at (sometimes) major moments. Oda's artwork is based on "sometimes". Naruto's artwork atleast looks more realistic and less like Looney Toons sometimes. The recent animation, I will admit, has become a little shaky, but One Piece is definately not hot in this department either, the series' art quality is the same as it always has been and no post you make of scenes where the animation or art increases for a short amount of time will change this fact. This does not make One Piece a bad anime, but it's annoying when someone can fanboy the art when it's barely even changed. Infatuation with One Piece takes over opinions sometimes, I suppose.

I didn't ask for a paragraph, it's opinion really so if you think naruto's animation is better.....go right ahead and believe so

What have you even seen? If you can't recall much then just rewatch the whole thing. There is no point to just watch One Piece for JUST the fights. That is stupid. The fights would be meaningless without the buildup that got to them. The story is what makes One Piece so amazing, not the fights only.

Also about the movie thing and the gears being introduced, it was a possibility of them explaining how the gears were introduced. The only explanation we get is Luffy was wanting to try a new move. How he came up with this move is left to our imagination.

There is no reason to rush through it also. If you skip anything you will be left out of the loop later chapters. Oda tends to bring aspects from earlier chapters and puts them later in chapters. The biggest thing of this was with the whale they meet along the way. When the whale was first introduced you think nothing of it. Oh, Luffy met a whale, big deal. 300+ episodes later, the whale becomes important again. I won't tell you why. This is why you don't skip anything.

I watched it all, except for those Edo era fillers. I'll rewatch it again this summer, probably even the fillers. They don't have an absurd amount of fillers either, and they're enjoyable, at least to me, because I just loved watching them interact with each other. But if you're going to skip the fillers, I'd recommend one filler arc, and that's the one right after the Skypiea arc, because it ties in with canon stuff, and it's actually quite good. It feels like it's part of the canon as well
