Lol are you kidding the animation is gorgeous and the art style is just superb. Really does the manga justice.

that face is just for comedy relief, that's not Barto's serious face. Just compare it to the bit where he squashed the guy.

It's bullshit to criticize the anime based on this. And furthermore you shouldn't even risk it if you don't know the difference between art and animation. Yesterdays episode had some pretty good animators working on the team. And bits like the flashback, the interrogation and Luffy and Rebecca were really well done.

Barto's fanboy face was deliberately made like that.

The animation or the scene itself? The scene is canon. And Barto's fanboying is hilarious

What was wrong with the sacrifise? That was a good scene

No that's what I'm saying. Zoro's sacrifice, Impel Down, Marineford, Post-Marineford, those were the peak of One Piece's anime. I don't know how else but to describe it but than saying once the timeskip started, the One Piece anime got really lazy and shitty. You'd think if a newcomer like Attack on Titan could turn a homely manga into something that great, that beautiful, an anime like One Piece should be able to do the same, even if it's a different studio, there's no excuse as to why the anime looks so sloppy all the time.

You mean like the censorship? If I remember correctly, Bartolomeo did stab those fodders but they never showed it fully in the anime (It was implied but there was 0 blood). Well if it's the censorship that you're talking about then there's no point in complaining. Toei is known for this, look what they did to Toriko lool. The blood was replaced with sweat. Anyways, do you mind being more specific? Like comparing the scenes.

Funny you say that because impel down has some of the worst animation in OP. You were blind to it.

Toei will never give up on this series, it's still very popular (top 10 in japan, almost every week) even after all this years. And I'm not saying it's bad, they just don't give a shit anymore. I mean, they went straight to desrossa without a long filler-arc? despite the low number of manga chapters to adapt?

You clearly have no idea how this works. One Piece is a guaranteed hit which has an episode every week for the past 15 years. It's the most popular manga in Japan and it will stay that way even if the animation is less good. So it has to spread the animation budget out over all these episodes. While Attack on titan and other manga / anime only, with a short run time work in a couple of seasons and they have to win their audience with viewers and not with readers.

Attack on titan is only monthly published, Fairy tail took a break because they crammed too much chapters in one episode, bleach quit. The only comparable anime is Naruto, which is basically on the same level of animation as One Piece, it's just a different style. If you don't like it then blame the art, but One Piece animation has been like this for years.

Budget is most of the times moved to big moments. Look at Smoker vs Vergo, Luffy vs Ceasar round 2 or in the last episode Rebecca crying.

There is only so much work you can do with a weekly anime and budget. So get used to it. Also Impel Down wasn't animated well at all. And Fishman island was one of the better ones. This shows how much you know about animation, you're just rambling.

Google this : A Study of One Piece Animation

And you can read up in this matter, at least if you're really interested. But it looks like you just like to complain about it, while you don't really know what you're talking about.

Based upon the fact you find the time skip disappointing you clearly haven't been reading the Dressrosa arc. The anime is full of filler scenes which ruin the Dressroa arc. So read the Manga. It's better.

SNK had a small audience before and had to win people over with great animation. Due to One Pieces popularity the animation can be as bad as possible and they will still make money. That's why they have a low budget for the anime. It increases the profits they make.

I find the clunky way a lot of the scenes of the anime have been done in after the timeskip disappointing. And I have been reading the Dressrosa arc, what are you even talking about?

I don't know how to describe it. It's..less fluid? Hold on, I'll see if I can find a scene to illustrate.

I know what you mean, I was simply explaining how the studio gets away with a bad job

Oh my God are you dumb? I don't like the way it's animated nowadays, not the series itself.

Seems like they're going to add some fillers with the next ep. (Rebecca's flashback) to make up for the 2 week hiatus.
