It is not written by Kishimoto.

It is a miniseries.

It can't be considered as part 3, because this story isn't about Naruto anymore. It's about the new generation, that's the Project New Era.

If Kishi would have detailed the further lives of every character, like e.g. Orochimaru, Juugo,... then he'd be writing until frikkin 2099.

I for one am grateful that he wrote such an amazing story that captured the hearts of many readers.
