I write poetry as a hobby and have been doing so since I was eight years old. Hope you guys like it.
Take back your mind.
Do not be defined by what you have but by what you can achieve
Not by what ideologies you believe but by showing character and integrity
For the worth of a person shouldn't be measured by things it should be measured by one's capacity for empathy and creativity.
Forget about race and ethnicity because we are all one people; not white, black, yellow, brown, for we are all a part of the race called humanity.
Let go of your religious views because what do they do other than divide and conquer and make us all look like fools?..
'I follow the teachings of Jesus', 'I follow the teachings of Mohammed', 'I follow the teachings of Moses'; and so on and so forth, etc; etc; but I think you all are missing the point.
I think everyone should chill out, sit together, smoke a joint, and laugh at the absurdity whilst we enhale from the pipe of peace.
'Cause one day you, you, you, and myself too, will all be deceased.
You see our lives are but dust falling through the fingers of time, those are the words of the wise Socrates.
But the problem is we live in a society that blindly consumes and loves to make war like chimpanzees and baboons.
The end won't come from some omnipotent deity, asteroid, nor ancient prophecy, we alone will bring about our doom.
The ice caps are melting, the storms are getting stronger. Crops are failing because the summers are getting longer.
Instead of fixing our planet we invest to sail amongst the stars; we've explored only 7% of our oceans, yet we want to colonize Mars.
I wish a coronal mass emission would strike and make civilization rewind.
Maybe without technology you'll learn to take back your mind.
