he coulda plucked it out of kakashis head during pains attack while kakashi was having his death team flashback and talkning to his dad XD. dont know why he didnt help..

That's a good point since he would have faced zero opposition. Speaking of that, I never understood why the Akatsuki didn't just team up together and take down the villages as a group.

Kakashi is still less capable of protecting the eye than Obito, so regardless of sentimental value its still better for Obito to have it.

Again, allowing your enemy to keep it is stupid because thanks to that Obito got rasenganed in the face.

I keep hearing you bring up the rinnegan, and sure perhaps he expected to get it eventually, but why wouldn't he want want DMS in the meantime? Like during his attack on Konoha?

I think he just didn't care about that eye at all. Just like how he abandoned Kakashi, he also abandoned the Eye with him. I think he never really cared about it cause he was so obsessed with his plan. It's ironic cause just as you said, it comes back to give him a lot of trouble. Lol Though in the end, he gets back both eyes, and dies like a hero. I think the message is that you should depend on your Birth rights, not on external Power Sources, i.e; The Rinnegan.

Bold is plot. There won't be a story if Obito negs everyone, save for Lord Sasuke with Double Kamui, now would it ? :sdo:

Even then, he would have gone for Madara's Rinnegan and started the Mugen Tsukuyomi plan then and there. Again why this didn't happen is plot because Minato and Kakashi would be the one to stop him making Naruto's role in the story completely irrelevant.

That's honestly all I'm getting at too. The fact that he could have negged almost everything but didn't all because he didn't care to retrieve his eye (which would have been child's play for him) makes the plot for Obito pretty dumb.

No, it's not dumb. If this had happened, the story would not get a complex plot in Part 2. The whole story would collapse on itself.

Calling something dumb, because it's plot is what is called Selective reading. Everything has a reason for why it happens in the manga, especially considering that Kishi planned the story out. Which is admirable considering the story ran for 15 years.

exactly. it doesnt matter to him Lol

kakashis eye was able to get him bc it was the one that saw light, obitos saw dark so its poetic for his past gift to be able to reach him.

he had others do stuff for him, and he had to stay in the shadows. he definatly couldve taken out itachi if he wanted too tho lol. but he didnt bc i guess watching itachi and sasuke was interesting to him

Are you seriously going to say that the entire story would have collapsed if it would have gone differently? Why wasn't Obito's eye just destroyed or sealed away? That would have made more sense than how Kishi wrote it because then it would have proven that Obito never had that easy DMS option available, making all of his struggles more understandable to the reader. When the easy DMS option was finally revealed to the reader that it was there all along it was very disappointing because then we knew Obito could have taken that easy choice the whole time but simply "chose" not to. Its very weak to follow a character's long story of struggle on that because "choosing" to drastically lessen your strength is not human nature and makes the reader devalue the character's actions and judgment.

This isn't selective reading, in fact its quite the opposite. Its paying attention to the details and seeing what has separated great characters and stories from the bad ones.

When Tobito talked to Kakashi multiple times before his unmasking, why didn't he just take his eye back and pluck it out of Kakashi's head? Kinda dumb that he just kept one MS when he knew he could have had access to PS and more.

What are some other dumb plot restrictions/inconsistencies that you saw with Tobito?

He didn't know... In his own words, "a Sharingan that can activate even Susanoo is a rarity..."
