No for tobi's transformation technique to work on other objects or people he must be touching it/them so he was going to absorb naruto to another dimension the same way he wanted to do with minato.

If your question is why would he use a completely different technique now then the answer is obvious: Tobi recently implanted the rinnegan granting himself the strenth to control 6 tailed beasts at once as well as the strength to capture the remaining tailed beasts. If Tobi could capture Naruto or Bee as easily as teleporting them to his dimension then there would be no explanation for Tobi needing the rinnegan or 6 tailed beasts to challenge them... in my opinion. You can argue your opinion back, but stop being pretentious and claiming your opinion is proof- everyone's posts in this thread are speculative.
Why are you guys making this so difficult? It is quite simple. Tobi used Human path on Naruto in order to remove his soul. He then placed his hand on Naruto's head in order to retrieve all of the information he knows about what has been going on recently in the war. This is believable, considering the fact he knows about Madara's rinnegan. So it would make sense if he wanted to know more information about what else has been going on in the war. Tobi said he'd be finish because the use of the Human Path costs him his life.
As you can see, Pein's human path placed his hand on the ninja's head in order to get information about Naruto's location. He placed his hand on his head to retrieve information, which would make sense because all information is stored in the brain and the brain is stored inside the head. If this does not make sense to you, you are clearly ignorant.
Kabuto did the same thing with Naruto. Kabuto's plan was to take Naruto's and Bee's soul, then bring they're bodies and souls to the location of Kabuto and revive them later. It is without a doubt that Tobi intended to do what Kabuto planned to do with them. The fact that he used Human path, i am one-hundred percent sure that's what Tobi wanted to do. Once soul and intel is retrieved from him, he'd make further use of his left right hand by warping his body into his dimension. He'll then revive him later on with Naraka Path in order to extract the beast from Naruto.

You say that Tobi doesn't need the human path to extract a jinchuriki, which is well known as we've seen the process. Tobi does need to defeat the jinchuriki before he can extract the tailed beast though- Kushina was an exception because the time a jinchuriki gives birth their seal weakens for unknown reasons. In reply to your argument about chakra always being shown around the human paths hand... It is demonstrated here that the chakra doesn't form around the rinnegan users hand at first while he instantly reads their mind, nor is it shown at all when Pain uses the human path on Shizune:

This lends credibility to the theory Tobi could have been trying to use the human path on Naruto- it is probable that chakra only forms around the rinnegan users hand briefly during the moment he tugs the soul away from the body.

It shows the chakra around the human paths hand the WHOLE time the jutsu was active...from just making contact, to reading his mind, and finally ripping the soul out...

Kakashi and Gai came in time before he could even use it. That is why chakra didn't surround Tobi's hand. Is that too hard to understand? His attempt to do so failed, which is why the chakra did not engulf Tobi's hand. I said this in two different ways hoping you'll understand it one way or another.

I was never oppose of the fact that he needed to ''touch a person'' in order to warp them. You clearly are extremely ignorant. You seem to lack in comprehension skills, for i have never once argued of the fact that he needed to touch them in order for him to warp them.
When have i ever said he needed human path to separate a ''jinchuriki'' from it's host? I haven't even implied or indicated that he needed human path in order to ''sepatate'' a ''jinchurki'' from it's host. I don't even think that it is even possible to do this with Human Path. Tobi only managed to rip the nine-tails out of Kushina, due to her pregnancy. This caused the seal to grow so weak that the Kyuubi was on the verge of breaking loose. His attempts failed due to Minato holding him back, while Kushina was pushing out the baby, Naruto. Tobi took advantage of the seal's weakness and unleashed the Kyuubi from Kushina. If this is not true, why didn't Tobi capture Kushina before she was pregnant?

He would probably mean by sucking his soul out. Remember Human Path, and how he tucked people's heads and just removed their souls? I think with Naruto's soul, the kyuubi's soul would have come along with it.
You implied so when you mentioned separation of the ''jinchuriki'' and the host, which is quite impossible.

How can you look at both of these links and say Tobi is not using ''Human Path''? I don't know if you're just too ignorant or just stubborn. Even with the including fact that they both have rinnegan and you don't even take it under consideration that maybe they're BOTH using the same technique? That's like me showing you two different people using the rasengan and then claiming one of them is using a different technique. I highly doubt that Tobi isn't using Human path due to the fact that Nagato did the same thing to what Tobi did to Naruto. Yes, after he kills him with Human Path. He'll hide his body in that secret dimension so it'll save Tobi the trouble of preventing bee from getting his hands on him. Later, bring him back from the the dimension and dead in order to extract the Kyuubi. Why can't you believe that he used human path, just why?

You are making ridiculous claims with no evidence- Tobi warps people to a different dimension through his hands now? He warps them through his eye- he holds them in place for accuracy, but in the anime it is very clear when Tobi warps anything, the object/person he warps becomes distorted and twirls in a spiral as it is sucked into his eye. His hand touching them has little or nothing to do with it, at most just being a way to stop anyone from avoiding the technique because it is imprecise unlike Kakashi's kamui which can pinpoint objects. It is all done through the sharingan- why would you think things are absorbed into Tobi's dimension through Tobi's hand?read my words you moron. If he's placing his hand on someone's head, then yes, it is quite possibly he is using Human path to see what else he knows on top of him knowing he's not Madara. After that, he simply warps him into his dimension for later usage.

In your image I clearly see Tobi using his eye to try and suck Minato in, in the recent chapter Tobi placed his hand on Naruto's head the way the human path was shown doing numerous times now.
What he said to Minato seems to mean the next time he has even an instant to touch him he will suck him in (implied when he says next time he lays a hand on him), to Naruto it sounds like his hand is going to be the end of Naruto(when I touch you with this hand, I win), but that's my personal interpretation... Which leads me back to the idea I previously posted- it seems possible that Tobi can only use human path on the same side he has the rinnegan- there is going to be a drawback to the rinnegan powers Tobi has since he only has one rinnegan eye(which is balanced out with sharingan), and my theory is that he can only use rinnegan techniques with half his body. This means absorb jutsu, mechanical armor summons and animal summons, and all the other paths. This is my answer to the OP, not that Tobi was going to suck Naruto into the dimension in his hand.
