As title says, it was once cool and op maybe to have big summonings like the toads, the slug, manda and would probably overwhelm any character in part one for the most part with few exceptions, but ever since Deva Path rocked all three toads in one blow with Shinra Tensei (sorry for title mistake altho big summonings probably are big target for that too), it has never been the same to have big summonings, they just became big targets, then we saw how easily the eight tails got hit by amaterasu because of its size and then kamui also has its potential to do damage. Do you think battling with big summonings could die out due to the danger and i guess susano is also another one altho more doable to fight against than the mentioned techniques.

What do you think? Agree or disagree?

doesn't it usually only take once to get the job done? i mean substitution can be used but don't forget sasuke can also use the technique

If they have unlimited chakra like edos then yeah it would beat most summons except the juubi and probably that senju monster summon

Chibaku tensei just beats almost everything it shouldn't be in a show about ninja.

Your point is sorta true.

Against the top tier elite ninjas with godlike powers (well ... more godlike than having fire-hands and lightning swords, but I digress) the large summons would meet their match.

However, against the vast majority of ninjas they're still extremely useful. Naruto even used one to sit on a bunch of Zetsu =D

So, useless? Depends on your opponent.

i agree... sasuke is the worst nightmare of big ass summonings and pj's alike, multi amaterasu to the face, preferably, to the eyes directly nukes them.

Sasuke and Nagato are probably the worst opponents for every Summoning Jutsu user. =D

Depends on what the summons can do. That thing that Danzo summoned against Sasuke (which was after the pain arc btw) nearly took out Susanoo and would've if it weren't for it not being able to handle a little fire in it's mouth.

The Sage Toads also have frog song genjutsu and song paralysis genjutsu, which are super effective (pokemon term) on sharingan users who tend to fall prey to sound genjutsu.

And Gamabunta managed to fall on and subdue Kurama when Minato used him that time.

I agree that summons are harder to use now than before. They really have to be special and can do something worthwhile to be effective

Main reason why Sasuke can demolish people who rely on summonings.

well that's the thing danzo's summoning would have lost even faster if sasuke had just used amaterasu right away, the point is that summoning was useless anyway, because even if it wasn't for sasuke's normal fire, he could just amaterasu it...big summoning..big target

Agreed

Most summons became obsolete ever since the kage summit arc ;)
