On another note, what is the future of kabuto?

So we last seen kabuto stuck in limbo and have Orochimaru suck his own chakra out. So what happens now? Is he still a player? or is he officially done and will maybe just make a cameo?

I personally think he's not done yet. I'm sure he can still go sage mode and stuff, just a little weaker without Orochimaru's DNA....though I'm sure it's not so much a backlash. My guess is that he'll either go crazy from the loss and on a rampage, go back to Orochimaru and join back with him but with a different attitude, or go to naruto and try stop Madara also.

Not much I can go on with this, pure speculation. So what do you guys think?

Well if he is to come back into the story line. I'm sure he will either join orochimaru or as we have seen in earlier manga him and obito don't have a friendly relationship so maybe he will go and fight against him who knows.
