Re: tobi's identity is already confirmed

This shit is seriously making me believe that he's Obito. This whole chapter was so weird with his dialogue, but I'm not gonna go down that path. Tobi's not Obito until Kishimoto says he is.

I was wondering about the lower part of his face. Seems Tobi has a normal face and not Zetsu-ish.

Re: tobi's identity is already confirmed

Maybe because Zetsu told him. This dosen't confirm anything.
This.

Zetsu is a good thing to have
This^^

Honestly one part of me really feels that Tobi obviously knows because of Zetsu. But then there is this other part of me that is thinking like the poster in this thread put it "Kishi gives us hints." I mean we have never seen Tobi
angry, pissed, and/or show any emotion CLOSE TO THIS. So for me this is like a "Duh" Moment while also being a "Hmmmm...WOW" moment. But for the sake of logic I am going to agree that he obviously has intel/info from Zetsu.

And as far as Tobi's comments on Kakashi, why in the hell would that mean it is Kisame? Kisame wouldn't know if Kakashi lived/lives a life of regret, MORE IMPORTANTLY, actually catching Kakashi off guard like that? No that is not Kisame's doing at all.

This shit is seriously making me believe that he's Obito. This whole chapter was so weird with his dialogue, but I'm not gonna go down that path. Tobi's not Obito until Kishimoto says he is.
Ugh if it ends up being Obito, I am going to take all my vacation time and fly to Japan and find Kishi and honestly from that point on I can't write what I would do, it might be illegal :D

Examination: Obito the "good boy".

NOTE: This thread pretains to Obito as his own character and not simply as an ID for Tobi.

People say that young Obito was not inclined to hate the leaf village. He was only a kid after all, a somewhat late bloomer just trying to make friends with his fellow shinobi, not really out to harm anyone. A "good boy"... If anyone can see where this is going, have a little patience and read further. Tobi was first featured as a somewhat wacky yet mysterious sidekick to Deidara, completely loyal to his sempai despite appearing clutzy, unfocused, and overall goofy. (Disguising the fact that he is actually immensly powerful and knowledgable.)

What if this is a role that Tobi has played before? Imagine, while a member of Team Minato, Obito was seen as the "Naruto" of the squad. Again, clutzy, uncoordinated and headstrong. But it strikes me as odd that an Uchiha of all people would have such an uncharactaristic attitude of personality. Every other member of the clan is either vengeful and vindictive, or peaceful and protective. Was Obito simply too ADHD to fit in with his comrades? (Like Naruto.) Or did he have some reason to conceal his true nature?

Mt point of course being that Obito (being alive during a crucial point in the Leaf's history) may have had something influencing him to play this simple, "good boy" role.

I have been thinking a lot about the clear problems with saying that Tobi is Obito. The first and most mentioned is Tobi appears to be much older than Obito would have been were he alive at that point. I have a problem with that argument. The man attacking Konoha wears a head-to-toe hooded cloak and a mask, so what is this based on? Two things.

His height.
His Voice.

And so I argue that in this panel, during the chapters of the Konoha invaision, we briefly see a younger Kakashi and Might Guy (bottom left panel) who are the same age as Obito.

Argue if you must, but I see no reason to think that they are any shorter or smaller than Minato at this time, they have grown up and Kakashi is in his ANBU uniform. He and anyone in his age group should be classed as the height of an adult male.

There isnt as much I can say about the tone of the masked man's voice, because Kishimoto to my knowledge does not personally choose th anime voice actors after writing the manga. Anyway, it is clearly very deep, However if you will humor me for a moment longer; Imagine Itachi Uchiha (an 18 year old young man in part 1) wearing this mask. Imagine him speaking, without seeing his face, does he SOUND like a teenager to you? All I'm saying by this is you cannot judge someone's age based on how they sound and how tall they are, and that is ALL we can deduce about the masked man.

Take a moment to combine these suggestions with all previous facts learned about Tobi:

His strangely contstructed body (Zetsu-like arm)
His physical appearance (hairstyle and sharingan)
His Sharingan powers and how similar they are to Kakashi's
His recent conversation with Kakashi about faces and remembering.

I suppose I'm really not drawing any conclusions here, I'm not just throwing the book down and agreeing that Tobi is Obito, I still have no way of knowing what is going to come out of that mask.

So leave me with your thoughts on this, what have I missed or not considered? Have any of YOU considered the ideas I'VE displayed? If you are for some reason offended by how "wrong" I am then you'll have to forgive me and please dismiss it. Or Idk talk some shit if it helps you feel better lol but let me know if anyone is interested by this simple thought.

Peace, VISION.

Re: Obito and Kakashi?

I don't get how some of you guys are flaming downing the possibility. You obviously do not know how to read between the lines. The fact that he spoke what he did to guy is pretty much saying "We've met before but you won't remember my face so it does not matter." he wasn't just making a sly comment about Gai's forgetfulness. That wouldn't serve the story well. It's someone Kakashi and Gai know, because the fact that they are there is all part of the climatic scene that this is leading up to where the person is revealed. It wouldn't be much of a shocker if none of the people present knew who the masked man was.

Re: Examination: Obito the "good boy".

I think its safe to assume that the Ramen guy is the same height as Tobi, so by your logic Ramen guy=Tobi.

I dont get why people are so obsessed with the idea that Obito is Tobi. Obito's character was boring, and only served the purpose of giving insight into Kakashi's character (his sharingan, why he is always late, etc). Tobi is too important of a character to be Obito, his backstory just about ends right at Obito's "death". Height/voice are not logical explanations (look at early tobi and current tobi), and Obito's character was greatly different than early Tobi. Early Tobi was all around a goof. Obito was clumsy. There is a difference.
