Yeah, I understand. I'm just saying pairings are different from techniques, minor incidents and such because incorporating them into the manga after the fact is a huge decision. This kind of thing comes down to whether the actual writer is interested in it because it's different from minor things that can just be given a free pass (case in point: the field trip) without having any significant impact on the actual manga or contradicting its intentions (of course this is hypothetical, assuming the actual writer isn't interested in the pairing)
