As much as I dislike flashbacks I feel they served their purpose, and the way Kishi went about it was the fastest way to get the points across to the reader. I'd rather have four pages of flashbacks than have another drawn out speech, or a couple pages of dialogue between Shikamaru and Hiruzen as to what happened to Asuma, etc. Besides, the alliance has quite literally lost all hope, and I don't think there's anything else Naruto could have said to raise their morale. Being able to see into his conscious to witness the things he's been through was not only a good way to remind them what they're fighting for, but the fact that he's a living being unlike Hashirama, and is still willing to fight presents the alliance with the additional incentive, and motivation they require.

That's true, but 99% of the time they're useless. I just hate how kishi got our hopes up last chapter then padded this one. This was obvious padding; It was unnecessary... At least let someone else have the spot light for a moment. So, Orochimaru arrived just to sit on the sidelines like everyone else and let team minato pull the weight... again? :|

Holy shit...

The ending was so powerful. It showed that Naruto was always facing behind Sasuke, and never really stood up and talked/fought with him. In the end, whilst Sasuke was up front with Susano'o asking Naruto if 'that's all he's got', Naruto finally joined him in battle so he wouldn't regret that he never did so.

That's not my complaint. What dialog was there? "That's why... This time, I refuse... To have any regrets!!!" Those 3 sentences took 6 pages. It could've taken 2 ****ing panels. Kishi promised extra panels just to pad it with shit we've seen before. It in no way relevant to us at this point, he could've done it the same way he brilliantly did sasuke's flashback...

Man I was expecting at least something more with MAdara and hashirama. Maybe Sasuke, tobirama, Hiruzen and Orochimaru initiating an attack on Obito. Something. Not naruto somehow re-entering BM contradicting past manga fact.

I actually enjoyed the flashbacks this time around. They were actually relevant and not overused...Not like a certain main antagonist *cough Rinbito *cough

He didn't manipulate ino's chakra. Where'd you get that from? Ino was simply Using a mass mind transfer to allow communication. Did tsunade manipulate her chakra to talk to hashi? Or the SA fodder? No. A Mass communication was simply set up. Naruto inadvertently started to reminisce during it and that got picked up since it's thoughts that transfer, and memories are thoughts.

Sadly, you failed to understand how great the ending was, because all you wanted to see was a massive drawing of a power-up, and was just flicking through the pages without actually taking in the moments in those flashbacks, and why they were even there in the first place. It's not like these were ****ing Rin flashbacks...

Before Minato's arrival, Naruto shared the handed over Kyuubi chakra with every shinobi on the battlefield, that's why he was drained to zero.
But this time, Both Kurama's shared their chakra with Naruto. Also compared to previous case, this time number of shinobis sharing the chakra are somewhat halved. So Naruto still got chakra from one Kurama. Also in chapter 646, Minato said that his chakra has been drained a lot.

Well, you could think about yourself in a situation like this. Just a foot solider seing everyone around you getting killed and you loose your hope of survival.
A thing like this can actually give a boost so much it can make a difference. Just think about it.

But, I see your point aswell. A lot of flashbacks might not be needed, but some (like this one I would say) was needed.

On the other side we see Hashirama trying to help alliance not to give up in vain. Everybody is in fear and despair, some where close to agree stopping fight. Even Naruto was about to give up, yet Sasuke had a boss moment

And we finally get to understand Madara's plan. All that in one chapter. The chapter was great if you ask me. Only one incoherant situation with Hashirama's clone having Naruto's chakra, but it was all over an enjoyable chapter, something that never happened to me since a long while

Ok I see that no one gets it with naruto the reason he is the new sage is this he can share chakra he can give his or the nine tails. Spoiler he can also take it from others that's why he is the new sage and hokage the village is literally he greatest strength. The reason all of the ninjas could see into his heart was because he was linked to them there belief in him gave him power and chakra. Also before someone says proof its called common sense like if you see that goku can fly up you know he can fly down we know naruto can perfectly mix his chakra with anyone and everyone at the same time so if he can give it he can take it and that my friends is God power

What power up did I want to see, mr know it all? Are you even reading what I'm saying? These flashbacks were exactly the same as rin flashbacks. Everything could have been done in 2 pages if you did it right instead of stretching it out. This was a chapter of displaying a flashy powerup in a suspenseful way. Slowly showing us Naruto in SBM again and Sasuke In C3 with legs isn't simply showing us a flashy drawing...? Are you kidding me? That's all it was, I'm not even saying the emotion was bad, or anything you're putting words in my mouth constantly. I've been saying that kishi padded the god damn chapter instead of providing more content. The same thing you're trying to say I was looking for is exactly what happened... Ending on SBM standing by C3 is a flashy power up. I don't care if you don't post here anymore because people don't agree with your opinions. I'm not asking you to agree with mine but you could do yourself a favor and actually read what i'm saying and try to understand it.

tl;dr; more original content could have been provided in the chapter. A battle, A dialogue, it doesn't matter. Not 4 pages of 90% empty scan.

the bold is the point. Minato barely had chakra left but maintained KCM. Naruto was borderline unconscious and needed support to stand. He had less chakra than when he shared it.

The chapter was getting me so pumped up, Madara finally confirming he's after hashi's SM and sasuke popping legs on his susano'o. I was ready for shit to go down, but by some BS retcon naruto re-enters Kyuubi SM Mode? are. You. ****ing. Kidding me? He was just drained half dead no more than 2 minutes ago but he has all that chakra left...? And 6 pages of useless flashback to pad it? Good job getting us hyped for extra pages Kishi... You did well to pad it the **** out -_-

Another week for the actual action to start.

Tl;Dr; This chapter was essentially hashirama saying hello to SA and Naruto getting back into SBM. ****ing junk.

That's what i said in the OP. If you'd notice I said the chapter was pumping me up until they tossed naruto back in SBM and padded all the extra pages with flashbacks that could have been nicely condensed. Essentially the end killed it for me if that's so hard for everyone in this thread to understand. We have 5 kages coming, hiruzen back along with orochimaru but kishi retcons his manga to toss naruto back in SBM. Naruto's been in BM twice before and each time he needed a long as wait to re-entire, and that was when he was barely drained. Yet, this time he entered it easily after having so much chakra drained that he was near unconscious and couldn't stand up. But, The flashback padding really agitated me. Kishi got us hyped for extra pages, yet he basically copy-pasted panels from the manga to fill out those pages quickly. What was the point? It could've been a full 21 pages of original content, not the same 16/17 pages and 4 extra pages of copy-paste.
