Olympus Has Fallen vs. White House Down

Okay so I know that White House Down hasn't been released yet, but something has been bugging me about it. Aside from the titles being very similar, the plots sound eerily alike with one (currently known) difference. I'm planning on going to see White House Down in order to compare it to Olympus Has Fallen. However, I wanted to get y'alls thoughts on this.

Well I just saw White House Down today. Without getting into spoilers, I was utterly surprised by how similar yet not similar it was to Olympus Has Fallen. There was the same basic plot-line overall but there were some distinctive differences as well. There was also more humor in White House Down than there was in Olympus Has Fallen. All in all, I'd recommend both movies to people. I know I'll be buying both when they come out on DVD. Heck I might even go back to see White House Down again.

I've been wondering about this too. Seems weird that these movies are coming out relatively close to one another and they seem to be about the same damn thing

That's exactly how I feel! It struck me as very odd. However, I must say that there is just enough difference between the two that I'll be buying both. There aren't a ton of differences, but there are some key ones.
