The Misfits were good. Why would you hate someone trying to copy them? Although MCR sounds absolutely nothing like them. Are you talking about the makeup? Because then you could say the Misfits copied The Damned. Which would also be ok in my book as The Damned were a great band.

I used to hear only 1 or 2 songs from MCR 4-5 years ago.

The Damned were a great punk band and they had the first vampire singer
However I don't think that Misfits copied The Damned,Misfits developed the style with the make up.

It is like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were the best of Rock back in 60's and 70's but everybody copied them.Wrong,they just developed rock.

Dave Vanian was doing the makeup thing well before Doyle was, but that wasn't the point. I was just trying to say that every band has had some kind of influence, whether it be in sound, appearance or stage presence. It's tough to find a band that's completely original, and that's fine with me. I didn't mind hearing a (KISS) Detroit Rock City riff in (MCR) House of Wolves the same as not minding that (AFI) Davey Havok wore his hair like (Misfits) Doyle. I just liked the music.

My Chemical Romance is from the town I now live in. One of their fathers gives me cab rides. He doesn't like their music and neither do I.

And the Misfits are also originally from my area. NJ = Punk Mecca. Or at least Medina.

Although, I will give it to MCR. I'd much rather hear them than Bon Jovi or Bruce Springstein. Some NJ folk give the rest of us a bad name.
