I start by saying this is not a thread about Tobi identity, neither a Tobito thread undercover, but a discussion about the reason why the old Tobi's mask had only 1 hole for his right eye:
1) He doesn't have enough chakra to use two active sharingan at the same time.
FALSE. He claims to be an Uchiha survivor and members of the clan never had serious chakra problems with 2 active sharingan. It's their Kekkei Genkai, they're supposed to use it to the full potential, it's in their bloodline. People like Itachi Uchiha could keep his sharingan active pretty much all the time. Also, I don't think a Rinnegan eye uses less chakra than a Sharigan to allow Tobi to finally see with another eye.
2) He wanted to see the world with his original eye, while leaving the replaced one covered.
VERY UNLIKELY. Yeah, Obito, but unless someone can justify the age paradox during the Kyuubi attack when Tobi fought Minato, I don't think it's any possibile to Tobi to be Obito and more importantly this be the reason why the mask has only 1 hole. If it was Madara, would it make more sense? I don't think so, his right eye doesn't seem any similiar to the ones Madara had.
3) He doesn't need the other one at all.
VERY POSSIBLE, but it doesn't really explain why? I mean, why should you cover the other eye? To make people think you can't Izanagi or what? Only fews know the existence and the effect of Izanagi or similiar abilities that require the sacrifice of 1 eye to overpower your opponent. His space-time techniques all come out from his right eye, so it implies the other eye is relatively useless.
4) It's just another way for Kishi to troll us.
VERY LIKELY. I mean, I'm here to talk about this, so he definatly got me. He just wants to create more drama around the Tobi's identity, which keeps people interested about the manga.
5) ? Atm I can't think of another reason why his mask had only 1 hole xd I maybe add something later, but if you have any suggestion or personal theory I will add it here. This is my first thread on NB and I hope the english used here is properly spelled and comprehensible. The all FALSE/VERY LIKELY thing is based on just my opinion, it's not stated anywhere else, so you can easily disagree with me.
