Old Naruto is back!!!

For a minute...did anybody else feel like that when he pulled the harem no jutsu?? I mean I know its gonna be short lived but THAT'S the Naruto stuff I came to love in this book, not all the power ups and clothes changing, it was clever and funny.

Those are the moments that have become way too far in between the last couple years.

Random but your thread just made me realize how many different upgrades/powerups/clotheschanged Naruto has gotten in this one fight. I mean its cool and all but it seems kind of excessive. I guess thats what happens in a long ass war like this.

Something like kakashi noticing the puddle of water on a sunny day, further applying his thoughts to the fact that it hasnt rained in weeks, resulting in that puddle being a sign of an attack by those two mist twins who tried to attack team 7 and the bridge builder.

Reading this is an example of what the anime/manga was like when naruto was a kid. Notice how indepth kakashi's thought process was back then...Instead of bull crap ass pull jutsus left n right..This is a key element the KID arch of naruto had...strategy and intellect.

Exactly. And some people in this thread dont even really get that, they think Im talking about Naruto's personality as a character. Im talking about the style Kishi used in his writing that made this manga unique, the battles being won by strategy not who has more power. Along with the character progression being fleshed out in the way they deal with adversity, THAT was interesting. I havent seen a moment like that this whole war. There were parts in the Uchiha Bros. vs Kabuto fight but other than that, its been like reading fan fiction more than classic Naruto.

I mean seriously, am I the only one who feels like Kishis telling way too much and cheapening the story? Part of having a complex universe in a story are having things that arent explained in detail as part of the background, it gives it depth...I really didnt need to know all this stuff about Hagoromo and Kaguya and Zetsu being the son of Kaguya, like all this stuff is cheapening the story, for one because it seems really forced, and two, its just not very well written as far as being part of the active story, these characters are almost irrelevant to what we care about as far as the Naruto storyline. I feel like this isnt telling the story anymore, its completely diverged from the story and the essence of the books themes.

But what you said about it being key in the kid Naruto stories, I'd disagree. The fights were like that up until the pain arc, then it just became random power up, OK, now create an excuse for the power up. Now have this character use that power up against this characters powered up attack.
