Super futuristic hyper sonic laser guns. They are part of the Rinnegan, the Asura path.
A Rinnegan path that apparently was used by the Sage of the six paths a few thousand years ago.
How did the Sage a few thousand years ago and Nagato a few thousand years later, come up with something like that, when even in the current Naruto universe, people still use birds to send messages xd. I know the Naruto hospital has some computers though but still.

Anyone ever found this a bit weird?

Imagine if the Juubi can use this kind of stuff.
Than the progenitor can create robotic like arms lol.

I always found this path a bit silly on one hand and cool on the other hand (the futuristicness).
I understand if the path would create a crossbow or something like that, would be a bit pointless though xd.

It's not thousands of years, it's 200 TOPS, Hashi was born 90~ years ago, and there still weren't any countries. The paths powers can change with the user, hence why Animal had so many summons.

nothing strange to me, it just seems that some area's of naruto are advanced, while others just emerged from the stone-age.

It's the narutoverse, anything can happen. ...but yeah it is a bit odd. Cool, but odd.

Naruto isn't advance but it's not in the stone age either. It's a nice combination of today's modern world and I would say the feudal era.

But yeah, I like the combination of worlds in Naruto as well. I just find this path of pain completely out of place.
That it can create extra arms, seems cool, but that they are so futuristic robotic seems weird.
It is cool in a way though, that that path somewhat represents the future.
