Obito is not the next sage, nor is he in control at the moment.

Juubi is being in the parasite phase right now, and needs Obito to enter it's final form. (which is starting to look like Rikudo, aww shit, i can see where this is going)

Obito or Juubito is a pretender to the throne, and as such is a meant to be powerful.

however, he's not the new sage, that title will go to Naruto in the end.

- he has the hatred of the Juubi
- not their will or their souls.

thus he is incomplete, and the Juubi needs a soul since it was at one time a living thing.

i will laugh my ass off if he turns out to be a true demon, and uses Obito's body as a medium.

I liken Naruto to be the retelling of the sage's path. because look at what has transpired. it's almost with the sage's life.

besides if Obito is the new sage, then the tailed beasts would've obeyed him almost immediately.

so to all who are saying "he's the new sage"... no

Naruto is recognized as the orignal's successor.

Obviously Obito isn't as powerful as the sage was, and he isn't "the new sage" in that he won't stay in this form, rule the Shinobi world etc. It's perfectly clear he will be defeated one way or the other, after all, he is the villain. And possibly Naruto will become a true new sage afterwards.

However, that doesn't take away one little bit from the fact Obito is the ultimate enemy right now and it will take the whole shinobi world to bring him down...
