Ok character development and progress.

Ok first off this isn't bashing.

Naruto:

• naruto wasn't held back because of his past. He used it to mature as a character.
• always strived to take the harder road even if it seemed "unrealistic".
• has learned that hatered can't not be stop by taking the easy route.
• has never changed his ways no matter what had come his way. He may have stumbled. But got back up.
• has always tried to understand the people around him.

Sasuke:

• has been narrow minded for almost 3/4 of the series.
• has taken the easy route to solve problem's "Kill everything".
• hasn't seen any really progess up till now.
• just now wants to try to get hatred out of the world. When he has been part of the hatred the whole time.
• fails to understand other people.

That's just a rough overview in my eyes of the main character and his secondary main.
