You said Ay can escape the wide radius of bone forest? I agree he will be capable of reacting to it but by no means am I sure he can escape it, gaara got out of it by the use of his sand cloud levitation. We got a glimpse of Ay's jumping feats against Edo madara showcased here[

Although that jump fit to reach edo madara by no means does it seem enough to escape bone forest due to it's large radius, if comes into cqc of kimimaro, kimimaro can simply react by sprouting bone from his body, can Ay most likely break it? Possibly and probably he will but it will take a toll on his body eventually.

Yeah, that's exactly why I said Ay outlasts Kimimaro rather than actually killing him. Kimimaro's far too durable, and has ways of augmenting his durability further (CM2, bone mask) and methods of defence (bone sprouting).
