I'm surprised at the amount of people that didn't realize this after they read the chapter...but yeah Orochimaru is like the Hisoka of Naruto. They just want to see shit go down and be interested.

I agree, Orochimaru always was a scientist at heart, a character who got miss-labelled as evil due to craziness of his experiments.

But in a scientist's eye, its just another mere experimentation, an mere arena to discover more knowledge. Orochimaru was never good or evil, he is a neutral character like Sasuke.

I still think Sasuke has Orochimaru on a muzzle and a leash though. If Sasuke said he still wanted to annihilate the Leaf Village, Oro said he would help him by restraining the previous Hokage.
